@RozierHistorian Yes - plenty of times, including today as we head back to the U.K. depending on where you are aiming for in France then changing in Lille might be better option and I’d look to get a SNCF club advantage if you can to unlock savings.

If I were in charge of the railways, Inter-City trains in the UK would have refreshment facilities that amount to more than just a soulless cupboard. An area to spend some time breaking up the journey would be lovely. It might even be a factor in encouraging more rail travel...

NEW: we need to talk about the dire state of British transport infrastructure.
Of the 52 UK cities with 250k+ people, only 8 (15%) have a tram or metro.
In France & Germany it’s 80%, Poland is on 60%.
Even *American* cities are better served, and the US hates public transit!
