This is happening in real time. The Patterson twins were taken after injuries were labeled abuse. Now the state is moving to permanently terminate their parents rights, even as medical experts say those injuries are consistent with Ehlers-Danlos and metabolic bone disease. I live with vascular Ehlers-Danlos. So I don’t see this as a debate. I see what happens when a condition isn’t understood and the consequences don’t stop. I’m asking my pain community to show up, share this, and put eyes on this case. Because once that decision is stamped, you don’t get your children back, you get a record that says you never should have had them.

This woman was at the emergency room waiting to be seen, all of a sudden someone who was also waiting just collapses onto the floor. She is outraged that at least a minute went by, nobody even batted an eye. The other people waiting just sat there on their phones, the workers behind the desk didn’t even look up, nurses walked by and didn’t say a word. If you saw this happen in front of you and you were waiting to be seen, would not it make you think twice about being treated at a facility that just doesn’t care?

NEW: Florida teen arrested and charged with murder after vultures were seen swarming around a suitcase with the body of a s*x offender inside. 28-year-old Colie Lee Daniel was reported missing for about a week. Him, and all the elderly physician's arrested for prescribing too many pain pills. They thought they were helping people. After all, in the 80's, doctors were arrested for NOT prescribing pain relief. They shouldn't be in jail, just like Dr. Reiner Fuellmich. We have a serious problem with our judges.

@fleabit_ That balance is brutal. You either explain and get flooded with advice, or stay quiet and get misread. Neither feels fair.

Can I just say something I think a lot of us in the chronic pain community are feeling? Caretakers and family mean well. I know that. But one of the hardest parts of being chronically ill is when people start to think they know what’s best for your body… better than you do. Appointments get made. Plans get pushed. And somewhere in all of that, your consent starts to feel optional. We’re not ungrateful. We just still want to be included in our own lives.

@ColetteColfer @jeangenie22 You are right Colette. The whole sorry saga stems from the Principal trying to enforce a pronoun policy on a man who she knew would object due to his strict beliefs. It was a very petty move that has ended up in chaos for everyone involved.

I fully agree that Burke is in prison for violating a court order. However, I think it’s important to acknowledge the root of the case. The court order arose because Burke refused to comply with his suspension. The suspension was the direct result of Burke’s objection, and his manner of objection, to compelled use of they/them pronouns for a singular male student.

@DOTSYMC @ColetteColfer compelled speech is, in fact, harmful. as is trying to change the meaning of basic terms.

@ColetteColfer The route of the case then is his refusal to respect the beliefs and wishes of another human which do no harm to anyone but makes themselves feel better.
