@SimonHoiberg Unpopular opinion: „using AI“ and using „well trained models well“ are two different things. Some companies are using AI for years and so do users and nobody cared. People now care because with ChatGPT a magic 🔥 was ignited, a 💡 in disguise as most don’t care.

@_Messier_33 @piq9117 … False or True independent of the context. For some things there are no answers but those things are either falling in the categories philosophy or the supernatural. The later can’t be discussed only accepted or rejected. And everyone rejects something about the supernatural

@_Messier_33 @piq9117 … around spirituality. We have learned quite a bit in the last 2000 years and I think it’s save to say we have understood under which conditions Lead can serve as the basis for Gold. Knowledge and ideas don’t exist in a vacuum. There are facts about the world that are either …

@_Messier_33 @piq9117 I am asserting that alchemy does not work because there is a mystic/paranormal component to it. What works, works but will also work in natural sciences and other disciplines so there is no need for alchemy. I have nothing against spirituality but we there are some things ...

@piq9117 I believed some aspects of alchemy were real before I ever interacted with an LLM. If you believe in souls, spirits, and such, alchemy seems natural

Guys, I’m an idiot. All this time I’ve spent trying not to die, I had toxic turf in my backyard. Artificial turf contains crumb rubber infill made from recycled tires, which leaches chemicals including PFAS, heavy metals, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. These compounds are linked to hormone disruption, carcinogenicity, and systemic inflammation. I don’t know how I missed it. It makes me question my basic competence in life. What gets me is that I try so hard to survey the world of potential idiocy. Then I find out there’s a monument to idiocy sitting right in front of my face that I was blind to. I’m removing the turf, yet I’m still stuck with this seemingly unsolvable problem of how to not be an idiot.

@AlasMor @satnam6502 The only valid reaction to these ignorant statements is to level up in all dimensions while AI is cheap. Once it's not free or cheap anymore, things will go back to normal.

@burkeholland @JayD0ubleu I think the general architectural pattern is wrong focussing too much of probabilistic components instead of using them just as glue,

Markdown is not the answer to your AI problems. It just can't be. We need to force AI through deterministic gates.

@LegalVoting @piq9117 People don’t get patents, people apply for a patent and get it granted; or not. You‘re suggesting programming languages are less useful than natural languages.Which is most likely not the case as programming languages are natural language compressors, like logic and mathematics.

@flosalihovic @piq9117 OK. There is no paper. Should there be? Do people usually get patents and then give the details to everyone else? Academics write about things they don't know about all the time. Isn't that enough to satisfy your reading desires.
