@akrazia I saw that show, New Year's Eve 1991. The crowd exploded when Nirvana came on (the jostling broke my tape recorder so I wasn't able to capture it). Eddie Vedder climbed all over the rafters. I'd already seen the Peppers a few times, so that wasn't as big of a deal.

@dyrdaisy Amazing! Do you remember the photographer's name or if the arts archive is accessible for the public? I'm asking because I'm a coordinator of a site specialized in the live career of Nirvana and I would like to check if I saw the photos before. =)

@jonforoli They were photographed by a Seattle hobby photographer who attended the concert and later donated to the arts archive I was working at for digitization.

Sometimes metadata tagging for a contemporary arts archive involves looking up obscure art terms for experimental sculpture pieces. Sometimes it involves looking at rarely seen photos of Nirvana at Seattle Sub Pop shows in the late '80s. Today had a little of both.

@n_hold i understand there’s a bootleg out there of Nirvana opening for Sun City Girls in Phoenix in 1988 or so. I have confirmed the show happened, but have never confirmed the existence of said bootleg.

I just remembered the Soup Dragons existed and then remembered a friend of mine in high school saw Nirvana open for them. [shrug]

Nirvana played Staches in Columbus the night before. I saw that show and drove up to Cleveland to see them again.

@SuburbanVoice I had a friend in Edinburgh who booked Nirvana in 1990ish. He’d agreed that they could sleep on his bedroom floor but his mum wouldn’t have it!

What is the gig that you can’t believe you saw? The one where you felt lucky to be in the room?

@johnlpainter Thanks for the reply John. I'm coordinator of a site specialized in the live career of Nirvana. After 30 years trying to get info and recordings, we only heard that Herd of Turtles played once with Nirvana. It's was in the field, in front of the Dorms.
