Not karma, just the reality of a volatile global market. India imports most of its crude, so when prices spike worldwide, it feels the heat first. What stands out is how India still tries to cushion consumers through tax adjustments, diversified sourcing, and strategic reserves. In a storm it didn’t create, maintaining relative stability is actually a sign of strong economic management.

Wild but also a reminder of how tense that situation actually got. Reports from Denmark’s public broadcaster (DR) say those deployments weren’t just routine drills, troops were quietly put on combat readiness, with explosives prepared to disable runways and even medical supplies like blood stockpiled in case of conflict. The logic is simple but brutal: if you can’t defend the territory conventionally, deny the enemy the ability to land.

Denmark had seriously prepared for a possible US attack on Greenland earlier this year, troops that were sent under the guise of exercise were equipped with explosives and prepared to blow key runways and bridges-DR Wow...

@MarioNawfal India leveraging its economic ties instead of flexing military muscle is just pragmatic statecraft. Sometimes the strongest move isn’t force… it’s access.

🚨🇮🇳🇮🇷 India is doing what the U.S. won't: negotiating with Iran to get tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. Over 1,000 ships are trapped in the Persian Gulf. India's working to get at least 23 tankers out, possibly starting this weekend. India's leverage: it buys massive amounts of Iranian and Russian oil. Diplomacy might reopen the strait where military force hasn't. Source: BusinessBasicsYT

🚨🇸🇦🇮🇷 BREAKING: Iran just targeted Saudi Aramco's SAMREF refinery in Yanbu. Yanbu and Fujairah are the only 2 major export outlets left since Iran shut the Strait of Hormuz. Fujairah has already suspended operations after repeated attacks. Now Yanbu is getting hit too. The IRGC issued evacuation warnings to oil facilities across Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE before the strikes. This is retaliation for Israel's attack on Iran's South Pars gas field. In parts of the U.S., gas prices have surged by 50% despite the country being the world’s largest oil producer. Meanwhile, India has managed to keep petrol prices relatively stable - an impressive achievement. Yet, some people will always find reasons to criticize their own country.

@piersmorgan Targeting energy infrastructure is where wars stop being local and start hitting the entire world. What we’re seeing now isn’t just retaliation—it’s escalation with global consequences. And that makes any leader’s ‘agenda’ far more dangerous than they admit.

Not going to sugarcoat it—this is exactly the kind of situation where policy discipline shows up. Keeping petrol prices flat in India while much of the world is seeing double-digit spikes isn’t accidental. It reflects a mix of: •Strategic tax adjustments (excise/VAT tweaks) •State intervention in fuel pricing •Buffering global crude volatility through policy timing •Public sector oil companies absorbing some shocks While countries like Pakistan (+25%) or even developed economies like the US (+24%) passed on global price shocks directly to consumers, India choosing stability helps: •Control inflation ripple effects •Protect middle-class and lower-income households •Keep transport and food costs in check In a global energy crisis, holding prices steady isn’t easy. it’s a deliberate balancing act between fiscal pressure and public relief. Credit where it’s due: this kind of cushioning doesn’t happen without active government management.

@JohnCena History shows that once an idea or technology sparks curiosity, trying to suppress it often backfires! it doesn’t disappear, it just goes underground, grows stronger, and comes back harder to control.

It’s easy to overlook how big a leap that was. Fortran didn’t just make coding easier, it changed who could code. By moving away from raw machine instructions to something closer to human logic, it opened the door for scientists and engineers to directly translate their ideas into programs. That shift from thinking like a machine to expressing intent basically set the blueprint for every language that followed. Even today, the emphasis on readable, structured code traces back to what Backus and his team started.

Before Python, Java, or even C++, there was Fortran—the first major programming language. In 1957, John Backus and his team at IBM developed Fortran, making coding much easier than low-level machine code. Before Fortran, programmers had to write instructions in binary or assembly—slow and complicated. Fortran changed everything. It allowed programmers to use simple, math-like commands, making it especially useful for scientists and engineers. NASA even used Fortran to help land humans on the Moon. Fortran set the stage for modern coding languages, and it’s still used today in scientific computing.
