@dom_lucre If he was convicted and sentenced, why do you still say "allegedly"? Doesn't conviction and sentencing mean it was proved beyond a reasonable doubt?

From Adam to Abraham = 2,000 years From Abraham to JESUS = 2,000 years From JESUS to today = 2,000 years 2,000 + 2,000 + 2,000 = 6,000 years. This leaves the Daniel’s 7th Week (Jacob’s Trouble) Jeremiah 30:7 the Great Tribulation and the 1,000 year Millenial Reign of JESUS CHRIST here on Earth. completing the 7,000 years and fits the 7 day model of GOD’s creation. 1,000 years is as 1 day for GOD. 2 Peter 3:8 What does this all mean ? It means you don’t have much time if you are not saved. The ARK door is closing and the Age of Grace (Church Age) is coming to an end. Believe the Gospel (Good News). JESUS CHRIST paid in full the penalty of our sins. His shed Blood makes Atonement for us and when we believe by faith His Righteousness is imputed onto us. His Resurrection justifies us promising Eternal Life. You are saved by Grace thru faith in CHRIST alone; not of works; lest any man boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 IT IS FINISHED; Receive the GIFT of GOD BY FAITH.

@ShaneSchaetzel You should know that "referencing" a book--even by name--doesn't make it inspired--even if true. Otherwise, why isnt the Book of Enoch included in the deuterocanon

1 Maccabees • John 10:22 → 1 Maccabees 4:59: The “Feast of the Dedication” (Hanukkah) is explicitly referenced as the setting for Jesus’ teaching. • Matthew 24:15 → 1 Maccabees 1:54 (and 2 Maccabees 8:17): The “abomination of desolation” alludes to the desecration under Antiochus. • Matthew 24:16 → 1 Maccabees 2:28: Fleeing to the mountains during persecution parallels the Maccabean flight. 2 Maccabees • Hebrews 11:35 → 2 Maccabees 6:18–7:42 (esp. 7:1–29): “Women received back their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, that they might rise again to a better life” is a clear reference to the martyrdom of the mother and her seven sons (and Eleazar), who endure torture with hope of resurrection. This is one of the strongest and most widely acknowledged parallels. • Luke 24:4; Acts 1:10 → 2 Maccabees 3:26 (and 3:34): Two men in dazzling apparel (at the tomb/ascension) echo angelic appearances in 2 Maccabees.

Early Protestants (16th century) rejected the Bible embraced by the Apostles and early Church, adopting instead the shorter Old Testament used by Jews who rejected Jesus Christ.👇🏻

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

Nowhere in the Bible are the deaths of Jesus' apostles recorded except for James the Great (excluding Judas Iscariot). So, where did you get the idea that the other 11 apostles (including Matthias) were also martyred? Church Tradition?

Meanwhile Jesus: Matthew 16:27 — “For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.” Matthew 7:21 — “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 12:36-37 — “I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 25:31-33 — “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.” Matthew 25:34-36 — “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’” Matthew 25:41-43 — “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’” Matthew 25:46 — “And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Luke 6:46-49 — “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.” John 5:28-29 — “Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.” Revelation 22:12 — “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done.”

Darwinian evolution received a fatal blow recently: amazon.com/Probability-Ze… Because we have now mapped the entire genomes of both chimps and humans, we know the exact number of mutations that must have taken place since the last common ancestor, just over 20 million. The problem for the theory of evolution by natural selection is that there hasn't been enough time for 20 million mutations to be fixed in our genomes. Not even nearly. Number required: 20 million Number possible: a couple of hundred The mathematics doesn't work.
Sarah Salviander@sarahsalviander

I once talked with a colleague at a black hole conference whose brother challenged her on Darwinian evolution. In her argument with him, she was startled to realize she couldn't explain why she believed it – she just did. Another colleague, astrophysicist Martin Gaskell, was the top candidate for an observatory director job. Internal emails later showed he was passed over because of his scientific skepticism toward Darwinism – his doubt wasn't faith-driven, just evidence-based. He lost a job in *astronomy* because of scientific skepticism of Darwinian evolution. As a grad student (before I was Christian), I asked a biology peer why his research – which challenged a core tenet of Darwinism – wasn't better known. Why wasn't it in the mainstream science news? I will never forget his reply: "Because it would hand a victory to the Christians." These stories highlight what Stephen Meyer observes: for many, Darwinian evolution has become a de facto religious creed. It's more about affirming worldview fidelity than dispassionate science. When questioning a theory is treated as heresy, it's dogma, not the "question everything" spirit of genuine scientific inquiry. Note: This is not an invitation to squabble with me about Darwinism. I'm still studying the evidence and haven't settled on a firm view. But Meyer is right: treating it as unquestionable turns science into a secular religion.

@mrdavidduff @astorcaeli @Protestia It can do many things through God's will: liberating someone, curing, expelling the presence of the devil, helping clear the mind from bad thoughts, etc. Anointed hands have the powers to bless water and objects through God's will just like in 2 Kings 2:21 and Acts 19:11-12

This post is an excellent litmus test for understanding of just war theory. Despite the fact that I can see how effective this would be, I must oppose it because the damage it would do to my enemy (who bashes in my mailbox) would far outweigh the good of saving my mailbox. Its disproportionality is opposed by our duty in charity (and even justice) to watch out even for the good of our enemies. (Yes, by the way, I have had my mailbox bashed in by random vandals.)

@kriegswanderer @astorcaeli @Protestia Okay so the priest is not blessing the water, he is invoking the Holy Spirit to bless the water. Got it. But that brings me back to my original question: what does "blessed" water do?
