@onlylarp @shawmakesmagic Put that in your rules, and the AI will forget it as it rises up through the context window. Never trust the AI to follow rules like that.

The quality of your vibecoded slop is horrible. I've seen it. Absolute dogshit. Fortunately, there is a fix. Use this prompt: I want to clean up my codebase and improve code quality. This is a complex task, so we'll need 8 subagents. Make a sub agent for each of the following: 1. Deduplicate and consolidate all code, and implement DRY where it reduces complexity 2. Find all type definitions and consolidate any that should be shared 3. Use tools like knip to find all unused code and remove, ensuring that it's actually not referenced anywhere 4. Untangle any circular dependencies, using tools like madge 5. Remove any weak types, for example 'unknown' and 'any' (and the equivalent in other languages), research what the types should be, research in the codebase and related packages to make sure that the replacements are strong types and there are no type issues 6. Remove all try catch and equivalent defensive programming if it doesn't serve a specific role of handling unknown or unsanitized input or otherwise has a reason to be there, with clear error handling and no error hiding or fallback patterns 7. Find any deprecated, legacy or fallback code, remove, and make sure all code paths are clean, concise and as singular as possible 8. Find any AI slop, stubs, larp, unnecessary comments and remove. Any comments that describe in-motion work, replacements of previous work with new work, or otherwise are not helpful should be either removed or replaced with helpful comments for a new user trying to understand the codebase-- but if you do edit, be concise I want each to do detailed research on their task, write a critical assessment of the current code and recommendations, and then implement all high confidence recommendations.

@ProfessorPape If you actually studied economics then you would know that higher prices resolve shortages. You should also realize the economic incentive for Europe to help bring about regime change in Iran.

Within 10 days, parts of the global economy will start running short of critical goods After 30 years studying economic sanctions and blockades, I don’t say this lightly: --Not just higher prices --Shortages. Markets are not ready for this

@plebcapital Saw all of about 4 caravans on the roads over ~2000km travelled. Normally cant get away from the cunts. Made the trip in our best time ever as the only people on the road were truckies and locals. Hardly anyone on the roads until we got back to the city, where traffic was fucked.

@plebcapital Just got back from central qld cattle station. Farmer said haulage costs an extra $50 per head of cattle due to diesel price increase. Now weighing up whether its worth him selling stock or holding out a bit as there's not enough profit in it at current prices.

Chatting with a Gold Coast cabbie this AM. Airport has had quietest school holidays since the pandemic border closures. Also mentioned his mate an owner operator semi driver who has parked up his rig and walked away from a 6 month haulage contract. Make of that what you will.

I liked it much better when it just stopped automatically when it ran out of usage. Then you could naturally pace yourself, switch accounts if you have more than one, and generally have certainty about your monthly spend. I have a feeling this is going to result in some real billing nightmares, especially since the extra usage is priced at a much higher level than the base usage in a Max plan. I'm going to need to add code to my ntm tool to watch for that "Now using extra usage" string and automatically stop agent sessions based on it.

Was this all a ploy to get people to turn on extra usage in Claude Code so that once the $200 credit gets used up, people start racking up huge bills? It's very easy to miss that it's doing that. I kind of hate this, now I need to watch stuff like a hawk to know when to stop it.

AI jobs anecdote - 4-5x since Nov I've had inbound asking me about a scaled content type role (titles vary). Convos have all gone the same way: We need XYZ, cool I can help, what are your salary expectations, I usually make $abc, "this is a mid level role paying 85k" Every time

Went and filled up at the servo today. One thing I noticed - all the bowsers around me had really low volume. 7L, 5L, 10L etc. Didn't seem like anyone around me was filling up to full, just enough to get through the next day or so.

One positive from the fuel crisis. They’re freaking out on the Airbnb Facebook groups with heaps of people canceling up and down the east coast due to travel costs. Hopefully many of them bite the bullet and put in long term tenants which would really help the rental market. There’s over 100k airbnbs in nsw alone.

@plebcapital Nurse and a tradie in SE QLD and only earning 200k combined? Clearly earning quite a bit less than their peers, they should focus on what they need to do to secure better jobs.

Gold sold off because it became a speculative asset last year, and the Iran war caused the sell down of all speculative assets. Bonds were sold off for a different reason: Oil driven inflation. Higher energy prices means stickier inflation, which means fewer (or no) rate cuts, therefore bonds are less attractive. This shouldn't be difficult for a self proclaimed 'Macro Analyst'.
The Macro Pulse@TheMacroPulse

The sell-off in gold and silver has no real substance behind it. Neither the DXY nor the US 10Y has moved in any meaningful way. This looks like pure capitulation and a washout.
