Low SDR has been used as an exclusion criteria in major trials of MRgFUS thalamotomy for medication-refractory essential tremor. This study adds to growing evidence that low-SDR patients can, in fact, be safely and effectively treated with MRgFUS. #neurosurgery #FUS

Imbalance was observed more often in high SDR patients on postoperative day 1 and month 3. Despite these promising results for patients with low SDR, there was a higher chance of procedure failure in the low SDR group with 3 patients not obtaining an appropriately sized lesion.

In the ENRICH trial of minimally invasive cerebral hematoma removal within 24 hours after onset of hemorrhage, functional outcomes were better with surgery than with medical treatment, particularly among patients with lobar hemorrhages. Full trial results: nej.md/3VPYggf
