You can defend Trump on the war, the gas prices, the tariffs, the pardons, the protecting pedophiles, and everything else. But shutting down multiple blocks of Midtown Manhattan so you can take a nap in a luxury suite at a playoff game and leave before the final buzzer is peak politician behavior. If that doesn’t bother you, you’re not a sports fan—you’re a political fan.
English

@CalltoActivism Presidents are not obligated to cheer like college kids at every game. A quiet moment in a suite is not a scandal or medical emergency
it is human.
English

@UHSABO @fistedaway It's the summer the kids aren't there
English

@fistedaway Some just said matches should be held during school hours when the shooters are busy🤣🤣

Please: be respectful of the host nation’s culture and traditions

@SteveKim323 Fight Agit like he should have done this time. Definitely the best fight out there and he's more than earned his shot. Fight Agit and if he gets past him and Itauma can get a win over Hrgovic or someone similar have that be his last fight before retirement
English

Question, as a #boxing fan, what would you rather Oleksandr Usyk do next?...
- Face his WBC mandatory, Agit Kabayel
- or rematch with Rico Verhoeven?
English

@TariqIq8623704 @ChivalryGuild If the ref didn't step in the bell already rang. He would have made it to the 12th with a minute to recover. Most likely Usyk stops him in the 12th but both men earned the right to see what happens in the 12th
English

@ChivalryGuild I’m sorry but if the referee didn’t jump in rico would’ve got knocked out cold so I don’t see a problem with the stoppage
English

@ChivalryGuild It's still an awful stoppage. His performance to that point more than earned him the benefit of the doubt to get knocked down a second time. He was in a bad spot but there were seconds left in the round and he was still punching back. I think usyk stops him in the 12th
English

@JimKarasBoxing Usyk looked in bad shape (for him) and just didn't seem to have his usual bounce and angles. Shockingly unprofessional to show up that way, didn't expect that from usyk. Rico is also very awkward and looked impressive
English

@BoxingEnth Pretty much. Fischer and that sort are his level and he can look very good there. No shame in that what so ever and it shows a lot of growth in his mentality and skill. At the top level he's just taking damage in uninteresting fights
English

It’s bizarre why they haven’t put Dave in fights for the British or Commonwealth titles instead of these tough fights against Europeans like Hrgovic & Makhmudov. There’s plenty UK heavyweights out there.
#AllenHrgovic
English

@JEFF_LOPEZ0205 @AlBernstein @DanRafael1 Sure sounds like a fight that shouldn't have happened or been watched when you say it like that
English

@AlBernstein @DanRafael1 Disheartening seeing this from legendary boxing analyst and having another one agree. Like come on guys, 44 and hasn’t fought in 17 years vs. UFC champion/Bronze Olympian who is 5 yrs. younger than her while maintaining her combat physique over the years since her retirement.
English

LOL what trash. Rousey submits Carano in like 15 seconds with an arm bar. Ran right at her, took her down and that it's. They've been hugging it out longer than the "fight" lasted. #RouseyCarano
English

@rory_fahy His first fight with Judah was a forgotten classic
English

cory spinks gets forgotten by modern boxing but his had speed was something else. the speed of double left hook was insane
combatsports@combatsporrt
Which fighter has the fastest hands in combat sports history?
English

@SteveKim323 Definitely a science to it. Match them too soft they coast and learn nothing, won't know what to do when it's tough. Too hard you ruin them. Ideally steadily step up get rounds and see new looks. Losses shouldn't be the end of the world
English

Woah, Justin Viloria just lost. OK, this is what we need more off. Young prospects actually getting pushed. The reality is matchmakers generally get in hot water for getting 'their' guys beat... #boxing
English

@TPsychosis92783 @jackalter Also didn't help that he became super one dimensional after getting the knockdowns. Not trying to set anything up or stab to the body just head hunting the same looping shot to the top of the head.
English

@jackalter Dont think they are relying on a great chin. Wardley has generational power and phenomenal heart also that has seen him become world champion .. he just came up against the best dubois we've seen yet . To say he has solely relied on a chin is undermining many other great traits
English

@garyfattersonBU @NotWhoYouDream We either did nothing wrong did nothing wrong and it's someone else's problem or we knew and we can fire Satterfield and our AD with cause.....seems like a win win scenario
English

@NotWhoYouDream Cincinnati did nothing wrong

@AlexGoldenNBA If the worst team just gets the top pick then it can't be rigged

How about we abolish the lottery so there is no way for the league to be accused of rigging the draft…

Adam Silver is reportedly "enthusiastic" about a new lottery reform proposal that would give the bottom three teams worse odds than teams ranked 4-10, per @KevinOConnor (h/t @TheNBABase)
English

@MZavagno11 Just give the worst teams the best pick. Give out bonuses substantial league bonuses for making the playoffs. The Jazz and teams like them aren't getting generational talent in free agency they need the draft to build something.
English

So the actually bad teams get screwed and teams who are 11-15 have incentive to tank into the better 4-10 slots. We can do this all day long.
Can we attempt to explain coherently why the NFL draft model is so heinous in the NBA

@jarvis_best Did that with Korean teams when everything got shut down in 2020! Think the NC Dinos is the only time a team I rooted for won the title 😆

English

@ShamsCharania Just give the shittiest teams the picks in order like the NFL so they can have a chance to actually add home grown talent. Realistically only like 4 or 5 competing for that spot, right now anyone that isn't a playoff team has a shot at a high pick giving more teams a reason 2lose
English

The NBA presented three comprehensive anti-tanking concepts to its Board of Governors on Wednesday, with modifications expected to each before a formal vote in May, per ESPN sources.
1. 18 teams in draft lottery (seeds 7-15 in each conference) – flattened odds, with bottom 10 teams having an 8% chance, the remaining 20% odds distributed in decreasing order for 11 through 18, and and a lottery drawing for all 18 picks.
2) 22 teams in lottery using 2-year record (seeds 7-15, plus the four playoff first round exits in both conferences). Lottery teams would reach a minimum win total floor in each season, such as 25 wins. If a team falls short of the floor, it gets slotted to meet the floor. Top 4 drawn as part of lottery, as is currently.
3) 18 teams in a "5 by 5" lottery – bottom 5 teams have equal odds for the top pick, with lottery formed for picks 1-5. Bottom 5 teams have a floor at 10; those that fall out of top 5 get sorted in a separate drawing.
