For those who make AI images daily, it's almost obvious that the aesthetics of Stellar Blade Blood Rain use AI assets.
The "look" of the background, the character designs, and the city layout have a strong resemblance to some of the best AI image and world models out there, and I love it!
I personally love the aesthetics of the hyperdetailed cyberpunk world that AI can generate, as there literally is nothing like it anywhere else. When the CEO of Shiftup says that AI is essential, there is no reason to believe that they aren't using AI. They even said they want to use AI so that one person can do the work of 100 people.
Like I said before, if AI can help produce more of these kinds of hyperdetailed games in a short amount of time and with less budget, I want more of it.
And here is the thing...
This means that with AI, because of lower budgets, developers can start making niche games again with a AAA feel, kind of like back in the feel of the 90's when every other programmer with a tiny team with a micro budget was making games.
That means fewer Karens, less HR, fewer "safety committees", no more sensitivity readers, no more diversity checklists, and less garbage that gamers don't care about.
It means games are going to be made by the passionate CHUDS again... some brilliant, some chaotic, and some like this game that absolutely triggers the exact people who hate that kind of creative freedom.
