@robbohuyton @ConnorWalshLFC On balance he prob stays for those reasons you mention but in terms of risk /reward the fans have a good idea where this season is heading if the status quo remains , whereas an interim adds an unpredictability . The international break could also be a factor.

Yep, but no guarantee someone else turns it around in such a short window. Fitness, injuries, players being nowhere near their best, depth of squad - those issues would remain regardless. And you’d have to pay them and their team and then potentially another man and their team if it was interim.

Outrun, outfought, outthought again. Scheduling didn’t help, injuries didn’t help. But they’re just way off on the regular.

@ConnorWalshLFC That’s the same thing mate. I don’t think the manager goes with seven league games left. I do think they shake on it and say goodbye come the summer.

@robbohuyton @Andyc1178 That’s one way of looking at it . There’s a minimum of 10 games and a ceiling of 17 games if this team actually had some belief , structure & went on a run with Isak to return .

@stehoare @DarylJeannetti I think that's a fair comment. Players from last season not performing and the jury still out on new signings, including Wirtz who has been overhyped in recent weeks.

@DarylJeannetti Like I said, I think it's a combination of both. Regardless of position, set up, tactics etc, players at the level should be able to do the basics like take a first touch, play a simple pass, make a simple clearance etc.

I understand a lot of the criticism of Arne Slot, and I agree with a majority of it too, but focussing solely on him when Liverpool underperform isn’t half letting some of these players off. Some of them have been absolute miles off it for a large part of the season.

The last time Florian Wirtz faced Manchester City, he was ineffective and was branded ‘a little boy’ by Gary Neville after a 3-0 defeat. Things are different now. liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football…

@SamMcGuire90 @Gradient_Sports There’s also a very realistic chance he’ll be showing this skillset on a Thurs night in Europa after lpool decided not to strengthen a threadbare defence despite having a month to address it.

Jeremy Jacquet is the unicorn centre-back I have been waiting for. He's exactly the sort of centre-back Liverpool should be signing.

Always wonder why so many clubs make desperate moves on deadline day (like we did with Guehi, now Palace doing same with Ordonez, kluivert etc ). Like did no one tell them a Jan window is more than 24 hours? Baffling.

@TheRedmenTV @mrbloodred @DistanceCovered Enjoyed the podcast earlier . Just wondering what you both think of Mingueza ? Really suprised there hasn’t been more clubs considering him . RB/CB ,ideal age and out of contract in the summer . Thoughts ?

@IverHanrahanGP A complicating factor is Chiesa and the number of non-homegrown slots available in the squad . If he were sold that frees up a slot. Unless that happens I don’t foresee any incomings .

As poor & inconsistent as we’ve been, keep our main players fit, & there’s still a lot to play for this season. Another centre back and or pacy winger with an eye for goal in before the end of the window would be a massive boost, but extremely unlikely alas.

@MiguelDelaney I’m not saying Slot can turn it around but this has happened to Klopp before and he was given the chance to finish out the season .

@MiguelDelaney May be of interest Miguel . Some striking similarities. “just 11 points to their name after 12 games of the campaign, including a dreadful run of five straight defeats that sent them spiralling into the drop zone in November.” skysports.com/football/news/…

Arsenal’s season feels so similar to Liverpool’s last time. They’ve been stable for years and repeatedly put themselves in a position to win the Premier League, even if it hasn’t happened. Now it’s all coming together for them and you can’t really argue they haven’t earned it.

@IverHanrahanGP Too many signings in the summer . Won the league and did a massive overhaul, in hindsight has cost lpool . Seem to have lost a lot of physicality. Diaz and even Darwin chased down players from the top . That’s stopped. Feels lightweight now .

Too many people I respect suggesting / advocating it at this stage, but I honestly cannot see how sacking Slot improves this any time soon. He’s not Hodgson or Rodgers.
