We probably saw the last of Fede Chiesa yesterday. Shame his fitness never got up there but I will always remember him for trying his best. Specially that Sunderland super fire goal he tracked all the back to save as last man. Thanks Fede.
🚨Steve Nicol on Liverpool’s guard of honour & farewell day:
“Waving goodbye to a legend has become a yearly feature for Liverpool since Gini Wijnaldum departed in 2021.
If I was at Anfield today I would have liked to have got off the field pretty quick. Going around looking for cheers and claps from the crowd after the season that Liverpool have had, I would have been on and off as quickly as possible.
For Robertson and Salah yes, but for everybody else, thank you and get off. There’s nothing for the majority of Liverpool players to celebrate... I just thought it was overdone, everything was overcooked.”
Do you agree? #LFC
@AnfieldEdition Arne Slot really needs a reality check we have stumbled to 5th position any order season we would be mid table
Whenever he speaks he just disappoints me
@AnfieldLounge First unfit players & tactics were of conference league
I can’t remember enjoying a single match this season in terms of wow that was good football
@SamueILFC@empireofthekop That’s a good picture- Henderson should return to Liverpool in some capacity once retired
Written off by fans too often and he is on that plane to the World Cup after playing in Saudi,Holland and still a decent player
@LFCALLIN Macca & Grav cannot be play together next season as starters
Buy a No6 and only on of them should play
Both of them have had a terrible season
@Dijkinho Rio has to have something else in his locker apart from step overs next season he will find its more difficult as defenders will have studied his tricks
@markklfc This has been all season once chance the opposition team scores- defensively its been the poorest
Strikers don’t score
Midfielders leave spaces no control
Defence is completely in shambles
Steven Gerrard after Liverpool’s draw against Brentford at Anfield:
🗣️ “I’m honestly furious watching that game because that should never happen at Anfield.
No disrespect to Brentford, but Liverpool allowed them to go band for band, attack for attack, transition for transition like they were equals for 90 minutes at Anfield.
That’s not the Liverpool standards people are used to.
What frustrates me most is the lack of control.
I genuinely don’t understand what the tactical plan was because the structure looked completely open every time Brentford broke forward.
Under pressure, Liverpool used to suffocate teams physically and mentally at Anfield.
Now it feels like every opponent believes they can come here, play freely and create chances without fear.
And honestly, that’s dangerous because once teams stop fearing Anfield, you lose one of the biggest advantages this football club ever had.
The crowd looked nervous, the players looked exposed and defensively the organisation was all over the place.
For a club with Liverpool’s standards, drawing like that at home should never feel acceptable.”
Liverpool are lucky to be in the Champions League next season the job was done by others for us to scrap through to the 5th spot
Not good enough this season players were well below the standard required for Liverpool having spent £450m
Liverpool couldn’t even get a win today- last game for Salah and Robbo ends in a draw and we never looked like winning this match
Liverpool are in a horrible place all Veterans living and the new players are well below the standard of winning any Trophy
