I was a first-time voter in 2014, and with great pride I voted for BJP because Narendra Modi Ji was the Prime Ministerial candidate. Our MP delivered far better work compared to the Congress MP, yet we still hoped for much more development. Sadly, even today, the state government continues to treat the people of North Karnataka like second-class citizens. But I remain proud and happy because my single vote became part of a historic change that transformed the nation and ended a KATMULLAS @$$ lickers regime. I began my journey as a Hindu Karyakarta and stood strongly with the world class leader Modiji for Hindutva and national development. The Siddi Community – India’s African-Origin Brothers and Sisters ❤️🛕 The Siddi people are an integral part of India’s diverse cultural fabric. Descended primarily from Bantu tribes of East Africa, they were brought to India during the 15th–17th centuries through Portuguese slave trade and military recruitment. Over centuries, they have blended into Indian society while preserving their unique African heritage in dance, music, and traditions. Presence in Karnataka:
Karnataka is home to the largest concentration of Siddis in India, with an estimated population of 20,000 to 40,000+. They mainly live in the forested regions of: • Uttara Kannada district: Yellapur, Haliyal, Ankola, Mundagod, Sirsi, Joida • Belagavi: Khanapur • Dharwad: Kalaghatagi Government Recognition and Awards in Karnataka: • Shantaram Budna Siddi – Nominated as Member of the Karnataka Legislative Council (MLC) in 2020, he became the first legislator from the Siddi community in India. In 2021, he received the prestigious Sant Eshwer Sewa Samman for his outstanding work in tribal development and education. • Many young Siddi athletes have excelled in boxing, wrestling, and athletics, winning medals at state and national levels with support from government sports schemes. • The community was granted Scheduled Tribe (ST) status in Karnataka in 2003, providing access to education, employment, and welfare schemes. Livelihoods of Common Siddis: 
Most Siddis are engaged in agriculture as daily wage labourers, collection of forest produce (honey, areca nut, etc.), construction work, driving, and security jobs. Some own small landholdings. Religious Composition (as per 2011 Census): • Hindus: ~42% • Muslims: ~31% • Christians: ~27% Many Hindu Siddis continue to worship local deities like Yellamma, Maruti, and traditional spirit gods. Concerning Recent Developments:
In recent years, Christian missionaries have become increasingly active in Siddi villages. Reports from locals indicate that through education support, healthcare facilities, financial aid, and job incentives, there are concerted efforts to convert Hindu Siddis. Such conversions often involve inducements rather than free choice, raising serious concerns. Our Responsibility:
The Siddi brothers and sisters are our own. It is our duty to integrate them fully into Sanatana culture and Indian identity through education, skill development, healthcare, and cultural preservation. Let us strongly oppose forced, fraudulent, or inducement-based conversions. By empowering them, we protect India’s rich diversity and heritage.
