@Jaydenxtdoor @collinsworth55 @brookslaich Not the point at all. It is the exact same with football. The point is that there are natural strengths that are so beneficial that those individuals are going to be given a chance.

@xLesserWeevilx @collinsworth55 @brookslaich yea but if you not actually good, teams and coaches are gonna attack you, you cant just be tall and expect to be able to rebound and defend without the iq

When I say football isn’t a high skilled sport this is exactly what I mean. Dude has never played football before and got drafted. You have to be extremely athletic and strong but nobody is drafting someone in the NBA who has never played basketball before. Too much skill in 🏀

@brookslaich Yeah but you are assuming a tall person can defend and rebound. I’ve seen plenty of tall people that can’t do either 😂 hockey for sure is a skilled sport that requires starting at a young age

when I became a TV writer, accounts like Howlingmutant’s used to scare me here I was getting paid astronomical sums to write for hit comedies, yet I’d occasionally see Twitter accounts that were every bit as funny as the funniest writer on the show and those people worked at call centers, warehouses, or the ferry I’d think, “wow I’m so lucky that person doesn’t live in LA and doesn’t have an agent” I can’t think of many equivalents either I don’t think there’s a random guy playing pickup basketball in Rochester who is as good as the pros but also Hollywood is about connections and being “diverse” helps too

@AuronMacintyre m.youtube.com/watch?v=TQNQ15… Rome fell for a myriad of reasons. Immigration was not one of them. The Germanic tribes didn’t immigrate peacefully or illegally. They violently invaded and conquered Rome. Foreign/migrant soldiers fought for time and kept rome from falling for centuries.

@thelaymanstake Government won't be in charge of it. You assumed that. A paradigm shattering model doesnt fit past patterns. It's like Vikings trying to conceive of something faster than an ordinary horse - it must be an 8-legged horse! 🤦‍♂️ No. It's an automobile.

Here is the question that ends the UBI discussion. So if AI/robotics are going to create such abundance that people don't need to work and everything will be essentially free, then why do we even need UBI? Why can't people privately own and use these tools, as they already do now and control access to this limitless abundance themselves? Why does the government need to be in charge of distributing resources if they are cheaper, and more easily available than ever? This would be like arguing at the beginning of mechanised farming, that because one machine can do the work of 50 men that we need government to control the food stocks and distribute them because we don't all need to be farmers. The last thing cheaper more easily accessible resources demands in government control. UBI is the oligarchs last attempt to control access to technology that has the potential to free billions from their evil clutches.
Elon Musk@elonmusk

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

@thelaymanstake Government or oligarchs have nothing to do with UBI. UBI is simple, it's just - somehow you got money to give every person in an area an equal split of a certain amount of money. I don't get why this is being politicized or framed as some sort of way to control people.

Something else Boomers are doing that makes life harder for young families but gets little attention is gray divorce (divorce after age 50). The gray divorce rate has doubled since 1990 and is expected to triple by 2030. Divorce is the death of a family and creates lifelong challenges for children at any age. (I know saying this makes people very mad but it’s a truth—not a personal judgement) But when your parents get divorced while you have young kids not only does your support system vanish overnight but you are saddled with emotional, relational, and financial burdens at a time when family support is crucial.

I accept, that after a certain point, sex becomes difficult, uncomfortable, and just not desired for many married women. Ok, but a typical man's libido is not done, and its not a choice. We can't just switch it off and we're asked to just suck it up TILL WE DIE!!!!!. I think there was a time that many wives were willing to trade off their husbands spending time with a mistress in order to keep the marriage together. That no longer seems the case so...divorce or, celibacy TILL WE DIE!!!!!

@MegEBrock When did this phenomenon start of blaming an older generation for everything that’s wrong with society? I’m not even a boomer but this is bullish-t. It’s like a child whining about their childhood and refusing to take responsibility. Grow up.

@NFL_DovKleiman Yeah and Denny says wins mean more than cup championships in nascr cause he also doesn’t have one. If you only have something it’s easier to say that means more than what you don’t have. Cause that will hurt

Wild: Cam Newton says he would rather have a league MVP trophy over winning a Super Bowl. “What's more important, impact or championships? Brad Johnson won a Super Bowl. Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl. Nick Foles won a Super Bowl.” "I'm taking individual success because I did my job." Cam says his personal awards matter more than Rings.

I voted to extend TPS for Haitians because I cannot, in good conscience, send people who were lawfully granted protection here, followed our laws, and built lives under our rules back to rape, murder, and chaos in a lawless Haiti. This is completely separate from amnesty or illegal immigration. Conflating the two is dangerous.

@RyanGirdusky I wish I had such an optimistic view of humanity as Elon does. If everyone got "universal high income checks from the federal government", that would be a record day for drug dealers.

- AI puts millions of people out of work - People vote for far-left populist - Politician creates socialist UBI - Only way to pay for it is to create wealth fund, seize assets and ownership of AI companies - AI Billionaires decry socialism as they lose wealth to govt.

@JoelWBerry We lost a lot of jobs shoeing horses and building carriages when the automobile came on the scene--but innovation in transportation only created more jobs, not less. Gas stations, mechanics, construction crews building and maintaining roads and infrastructure.

@JoelWBerry Just as delusional b******* . You have no idea. Yes, past industrial/tech improvements have led to new job growth. It does not follow that this time it will. You sound like a religious zealot. Also, there are already entire industries of make work jobs right now.
