@MPraeceptorum I find the 80s/90s stories far better as usually they told a self contained story with some overarching subplot progression. With the current structure we get introduced to a concept (the minotaur) and it takes multiple months until we get back to it. Not much progress is made

I’ve seen a number of fans lately take issue with the pacing and plotting of Matt Fraction’s #Batman run. For me though it’s a return to form. The episodic A/b/c plotting of the 80s/90s. Not the 6-12 issue A-plot-only structure recent readers are used to: batlore.wordpress.com/2026/06/05/fra…

@iamyomas It definitely helps with sales, as almost strictly a dc reader im picking this up. already like the creatives, but actually knowing the characters makes me want to actually buy it. However from what I know the point of avengers is lesser heroes teaming up, so I get the criticism

@SpiderKnightART The thing is, as a non-marvel fan and mostly just a dc reader, this does get me pretty excited. Two creatives I like a lot working on a team book with some of the only marvel characters I actually like, I'm actually gonna put a marvel series on my pull list

@Deathcheat6 Is this the place to confess I quite like DK Strikes Again? Like yeah its characterisation is bad, but thats cause its not trying to be accurate. Most characters are a parody of themselves and more so used symbols than characters. I say this while still slamming Tom King for it

@Habbalab From the ones I've both watched and read id definitely say mob psycho and jjk are heavily elevated by the anime, gintama anime is probably also better and (imo) fma is pretty similar quality wise I personally actually prefer the first season of death note over manga, but second..

@JUNJOUSUPERSTAR Amazing Spider-Man 1000 is coming in September I believe and Armageddon is "going to reshape the hierarchy in the Marvel Universe" the rock style, they signed some good creatives recently like pkj and Chris condon so interested to see what's coming

@PhillipKJohnson how do you get ideas for scenes and concepts? Personally a lot of the time they just kind of come to me instead of really being "created" because of a need to exist. Interested what type you are cause I've heard quite a few different things from different writers.

@p2099 Jason became Robin in Batman #368 in 1983 He died in Batman #428 in 1988 That's 5 years, Alfred died in late 2019 so that's been more than 6 years!
