At IOA and very disappointed. Wanted to come early and rush to the rides before a long line. We went to spider-man closed, popeyes was closed, waited in line for kong closed, then to the pteradon flyers closed, river adv closed. Now every ride is long wait and close @UniversalORL

Uncle Walt’s Little Known Facts

Well, both have designed systems where the spin is programmable. According to the Vekoma technical patent, each ride car sits on a turntable controlled by electric servo motors mounted in the chassis. These motors are driven by a CAN-bus network tied to the main PLC (programmable logic controller). The vehicle’s yaw angle is continuously adjusted via encoder feedback so the car “faces” story elements, screens, or show lighting cues. The motion profile (spin rate and orientation) is pre-scripted for each section of track, synchronized to the block system and show timing (music, projection, etc.). Onboard bus bars and slip rings provide uninterrupted electrical power to the spin motor and sensors during the ride. Intamin, who built Tornado (Särkänniemi, Finland), Inferno (Terra Mítica, Spain), and Twist Coaster Robin (Japan), according to the AG European Patent, uses hydraulic or mechanical vane dampers coupled with clutch-controlled friction drives to regulate spin. Instead of fully motorized control, the Intamin cars typically employ a passive-assist system: the rotation is influenced by track banking and rider weight, but restricted by an adjustable hydraulic damper or electromagnetic clutch that can “lock” or “free” the spin. Some Intamin prototypes feature pneumatic “spin control units” under the car that change friction resistance mid-ride, but there’s no continuous electric servo feedback loop like Vekoma’s. The result is that the car spins more freely but within limited bounds; designers can tune spin intensity, but not precisely time it to show scenes.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is crazy with tech...the first coaster at Disney parks that features a backwards launching train, using a reverse Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM) launch system. Rather than simply playing music, the design team tested over 100 songs to find six that aligned with the ride’s motion profile so that launch, turns, tempos, and guest experience were in sync with the soundtrack (in other words, the motion control system is aware of the audio cues). The coaster has a track length of approximately 5,577 feet, one of the largest indoor coasters in the world. The show building foundations alone required 960 truckloads of concrete. The ride vehicles employ a patented “passenger compartment yaw-motion” system that allows the cars to rotate during the ride; a patent titled “Roller Coaster with Passenger Compartment Motion Powered Through Stored Onboard Energy” was filed by Disney for Cosmic Rewind.

@EscAuthority @ExpThemePark Your technically right and wrong, universal counts volcano bay as their third. But we all know a waterpark is not a themepark. This post was going off of universals standards

@EthanHershaft @SeaWorld Typically they either don’t have proper staffing which is a widespread chain problem, or the whales aren’t feeling it that day. I wouldn’t complain that SeaWorld lets the whales choose not to perform even if it disappointed guests

Yesterday, @SeaWorld canceled the 5:30 Orca show. I'm not sure if this happens a lot but guests were definitely disappointed. This was also the only Orca show for the day
