@FieldwalkerAg There’s isn’t one software package that can do It all. We use Harvest Profit, SMS, Excel, and Agrimatics (grain cart scale). There’s integration and API’s but they never work a 100% and you end up spending more time fixing errors than just doing some double entry.

I’d like to an article on farm mgmt software for my newsletter. This space has changed considerably over the last 5 years, if you have a software tool you like to use, drop me a note.

@Dungannon_Dan @farmerstrang I agree with @Dungannon_Dan the flagship x120 Case are solid machines for that vintage. Ran one for 8 years and had very little issues if any in season. Easy to work on and not all the fancy electronics. The Claas we run now it very nice and it doesn’t have the fancy tech 👍

@farmerstrang 2011 model team 20 series work good👍 Same rotor & sieves as new 60 series, less the def & automation.

I’d like to get some opinions from my fellow combine operators… what era, year, model do you think combines peaked in terms of reliability and performance? A combine that does a great job of thrashing and separating and doesn’t break down too often.

@modernfarmer Been using a Garmin Instinct watch for 3 years now for health and wellness monitoring. It’s gets beaten up everyday and I’ve had no issues. Best part, the battery life is awesome.

What’s the best option for personal devices that can monitor heart health? There is little I loathe more than shopping for electronic devices, would love to know what folks have used that stands up to the rigour of livestock farming

@phhermans Honestly, using desiccants on half of our soybeans acres has let us start harvesting 2-4 days sooner. It’s gives us a better sample (especially in seed soybeans) and sets up for earlier wheat and weed free start.

@MaillouxJosh I hate to say it but it was pretty dry here, we needed a good soaker, the first 1.5” disappeared pretty quick.

@Cropper01 Were you guys already wet Mark? We got 1.5” no water laying today it was a good shower.

As the “crow flies” the 63mm (2.5”) rain gauge is only 8km (5 miles) from the 91mm (3.6”) rain gauge…the 79mm (3.1”) gauge is located half way between the two.

@jgreig Was at a one of a few area dealerships impacted by the CDK issue. No issues getting part but was told it was going to result in a lot of future paperwork on their end.

How much is the dealership software outage affecting your farm? Do you have a tractor, planter, seeder or sprayer sitting because you can't access parts? What interesting is that this outage affects almost all makes of dealerships.

@cropdoc2 Yes one pass, not a great trial but the strips were very rough and I didn’t have the confidence to plant them stale.

@Cropper01 Looks great, Mark. Did you leave some strips "unfreshened" for comparison?

Had some fun in the sun yesterday freshening some fall made strips that were made under less than ideal conditions. Yetter strip fresheners do a great job creating a beautiful seed bed for corn. Happy when a winter project turned out as you hoped.
