@officialABAT Please bring back our children from the dens of lions. We are sad and we demand you to take responsibility. It is a shame that a whole nation can not win banditry in spite of the security architecture.

On this Children’s Day, I celebrate every Nigerian child. I celebrate the child who is excelling in school. I celebrate the child who is learning a trade. I celebrate the child living with disability and still pressing forward with courage. I celebrate the child who has lost much but has not lost hope. Today belongs to you. It is a day to celebrate your innocence, your strength, your creativity, your aspirations, and the immeasurable value you bring to our nation. You are the pride of our Republic, the custodians of tomorrow’s promise, and the living reminder that we can shape the future of Nigeria by the opportunities we create for our children today. The theme for this year’s celebration, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child,” speaks powerfully to the soul of our national conscience. It reminds us that the future is not a distant promise; it is already here. As we mark this special day, which coincides with Eid-el-Kabir, some Nigerian children and their teachers in Oyo and Borno should be with their families, but are being held captive by criminals. Some children have been forced into fear. Some parents cannot join today’s celebration because their hearts are set on one prayer: ‘Bring our children home.’ To those children, their parents, and their teachers, I say this as a father and your President: you are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. To the families grieving and despondent, your government will not turn your pain into ceremony. We will continue to work until children taken from their homes, schools and communities are returned safely, and until those who profit from this cruelty are brought to justice. I have directed all relevant security agencies to sustain and intensify coordinated rescue operations for abducted children and other vulnerable citizens across the country. These operations must be intelligence-led, carefully executed and focused first on the safe recovery of our children. I have also directed the strengthening of school protection measures in high-risk areas. This will include updated school vulnerability mapping, closer coordination between state governments and security commands, rapid response links between schools and local security units, and stronger community-based early warning systems. The Federal Ministry of Education, working with state governments, is to deepen the implementation of the Safe Schools framework with clear reporting, clear responsibility and clear timelines. Every school in a vulnerable area must know who to call, what to do, where to move, and how to protect children when danger is identified. We will also improve support for children who have survived abduction, violence and displacement. Rescue is not the end of the government’s duty. A child who returns from trauma must return to care, medical attention, counselling, education and dignity. I have directed the relevant ministries and agencies to ensure that recovered children receive proper reintegration support, not temporary attention. Let me also state that protecting children cannot be left solely to the government. Parents, teachers, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, youth groups, transport unions, local vigilantes and the media all have a role to play. When a community sees strange movement around a school and keeps quiet, a child is placed at risk. When warning signs are ignored, families suffer. When information is shared quickly and responsibly, lives can be saved. This is why we will continue to strengthen the link between communities and security agencies. The fight to protect children must begin before an attack happens, not after one has already occurred. 1/2

@GossipMillNaija Nobody likes the situation in the country. But it is a real problem when hate has blindfolded us that we can no longer think straight and understand issues in their right perspective. And the bigger problem is when situations have taken the better side of us.

On Memorial Day, we pay tribute to the brave men and women in uniform who gave their lives for this country that we love. It is a debt we can never fully repay, but we must never stop trying. I’ll always be grateful to our fallen heroes and their families, whose sacrifice reminds us of what it means to live for something greater than ourselves.

"Christian Monopoly Must Stop" – MURIC Tells Makinde: Reject Christian Successor, It's Turn of Muslims in Oyo The Muslim Rights Concern has fired a warning shot at Governor Seyi Makinde, accusing him of attempting to impose a Christian successor after spending eight years in office. MURIC insisted that it is now the turn of a Muslim governor in Oyo State. "Christian monopoly of governance must be stopped in Yorubaland," said MURIC Executive Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, in a press statement. "Seyi Makinde has no right to anoint another Christian as his successor." The group argued that an unwritten convention in Yorubaland demands that a Muslim follows a Christian governor, and vice versa. "Makinde should not ignite a religious crisis in Oyo State," the statement read. MURIC called on Muslim leaders to resist the move with every legitimate means, claiming Muslims are the majority population and pay the highest tax yet have been reduced to "3rd class citizens." The group also noted that all six governors in the South West are currently Christian, calling the imbalance an "existential matter" for Muslims.

I don’t think Mr Onanuga get the grasps of what he responded to. Otherwise, it is obvious that our leaders has lost shame and takes pride in their failures. Every nation building project has been completely bastardized; no public water, no airline, no power, no roads, no housing, etc. When we are growing up these are what we took pride in until the wolves destroyed them all.

I noticed Gateway Airline, the newly launched airline of the Ogun State government, wasn't listed. Kudos for enlightening Nigerians who like deriding and denigrating our country without demonstrating deep knowledge of it. How can anyone compare Nigeria with Gabon? We are not in the same class.
LEGENDARY J.O.E@LegendaryJoe

Ibom Air by Akwa Ibom State. Cally Air by Cross River State. Enugu Air by Enugu State. Imo Air by Imo State. But Nigeria is really behind because Gabon has one carrier? Meanwhile, Air Gabon stopped operations in 2006. The carrier was shut down due to financial collapse and a heavy debt burden. Gabon again attempted a resurrection with Gabon Airlines in 2007 - which operated with only two Boeing 767-200 jets. But that also failed in 2012, for the exact same reasons as the first: financial collapse and heavy debt burden. FlyGabon, launched in 2024, is Gabon's third attempt at sustaining a national carrier - and they are already facing the same familiar tremors as their two previous failed attempts. But Nigeria is really far behind because Gabon owns a struggling carrier, when 4 Nigerian states run far more sustainable airlines. Sister, stick to being an organizer of staged protests, perfecting the logistics of ₦2,000 mobilization fees and the choreography of borrowed outrage. Those are respectable skills you can harness to becoming a professional propagandist. Leave the weightier matters of state to those with the decency and the education for it.

That’s a CAN of worms. Amidst the ongoing genocide and less donations and support for the persecuted cum less concern to spur a revolution for a lasting solution. Well, I understand the need for a chapel as a mosque is also there at the airport. But there’s a more important thing right now.

@adisa_ace @jidesanwoolu @drobafemihamzat Lagos was largely experimented in the past eight years. The result was woeful. A wanton disregard for progress amidst abundant resources. An underperforming government when compared to the likes of Fashola. He inherited cleaner Lagos and left us with dirtier Lagos.

Today, I received my Deputy, @drobafemihamzat , as he formally shared his intention to run for Governor of Lagos State. We have worked closely for over 21 years and I know his strength, his capabilities and his steady commitment to the people of Lagos. Femi’s understanding of governance and the socio-economic development of the State as nurtured by our leader, HE President Bola Tinubu, makes him, undoubtedly the best man for the job. Lagos is too important to be left for experimenting. I, therefore have no doubt that with his values, he will continue to work tirelessly to make our state greater.

Stumbled on the conversation around POS agents over the weekend, and I found myself asking a question that I think more people should be asking. How are these people still making any money? Let us do the mathematics together. Say a POS agent sees 50 customers a day, which is actually a decent day. At ₦100 per transaction, that is ₦5,000 gross. Now take out data, which can run ₦10,000 to ₦20,000 a month. Transportation to get the money, and to their stand. The float they have to put down every morning before they have served one person. Some of them are even paying rent for the space they operate from. What is left? And remember, this is the money some of these people are using to pay school fees, feed their families, and keep a roof over their heads. Now layer on the fact of the currency dynamics and value determination since 2023. Inflation also peaked at nearly 35%. Every single cost in their business has gone up, yet the charge most of them collect today is roughly what it was two or three years ago. If a POS agent was a tech startup, people would be writing case studies about their resilience.
