NCAA is making a mess of hockey. When the schools, minor leagues, CHL, NHL and most teams are against the new rules maybe it is time to go back and see that hockey is not like the other sports as far as development and qualifications.

Based on the scores posted so far at the Montreal Meltdown (both sanitized ones and actual ones if you click on it), it’s amazing that parents spend INSANR amounts of money and travel outside their country for this garbage.

Players leaving the NTDP early get hit with a $50,000 (!) fee from USA Hockey. "Requested a release" in this case means asking for that to be waived.

As I was saying, Meyer will still need to be released by USA Hockey. Could get interesting. However, his intentions are to play with the Remparts.

ASU has done nothing wrong. don't hate the player, hate the game. How can we look down upon a program or a coach for using the rules to their favor? Coaches need to win to keep their jobs. Credit to Greg Powers and ASU for trying to make their team better any way possible.

I also want to note..i dont blame ASU. I blame the NCAA for the rules. They are changing after this season i’ve been told so we wont see much more of this. Programs like ASU should be taking advantage of these rules while they can. One long run from ASU could change their program for years to come. I think they’ll be pretty good next year too.
