Jalen Carpenter aka “EBKcap82” from (Mixxmobb ) OTM Shootas affiliate was killed by state police on 65th & Champlain On Wednesday night, April 15, 2026, an officer-involved shooting occurred in the 6500 block of South Champlain Avenue in Chicago's Woodlawn neighborhood. Illinois State Police (ISP) troopers shot and killed an armed suspect following a struggle. The shooting took place at approximately 10:50 p.m.. Troopers were responding to a domestic battery call that reportedly originated on I-57. Upon arriving at the 6500 block of South Champlain, officers encountered an armed individual. A struggle ensued, during which shots were fired and the suspect was struck. The suspect was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead. No officers were injured in the incident, and a firearm was recovered at the scene. Family members identified the man as 24-year-old Jalen Carpenter, a father of a 2-year-old. The ISP Division of Internal Investigation Special Agents are currently investigating the shooting. Once complete, all evidence will be submitted to the Cook County State's Attorney's Office for review. #ChicagoScanner #CrimeNews #Homicide

This seafood boil restaurant has had too many instances of dining and dashing. It is now their policy that the customer pays first right after ordering. Now the new scam for people there is that they eat some of their food, but they complain that the food was bad so they can try to get a refund. Seems like this location can never win, if it’s not one scam it’s another. Even though nobody else has complained that the food was spoiled, should they just refund her anyways?

As the case moves forward, investigators are examining Fisher’s mental health and background — but for Anderson’s family, the tragedy is already beyond comprehension: a man k*lled in front of his own home, and an entire neighborhood left asking why.
