@sesquipej @Financhle @Yueqi_Yang There is risk 1. More drinks are ordered than the kalshi payout and knicks win 2. Nobody shows up and the spurs lose

Kalshi's first example of a small business using it as hedging tool is The Jeffrey, an NYC bar that's promising free drinks to all customers if New York Knicks wins NBA Finals Game 1 on Wednesday

@KnowCommon @Sixrande They have cameras everywhere with phenomenal quality and zoom , he must’ve been aware they could see him meddling with it. She only found out because she got the notification that he accepted them

@Sixrande Guy at my local Best Buy just got caught air dropping nudes to himself from a customers phone while it was there for repairs. Just keep that in mind when you let strangers handle your phone

Therefore, all I can assume is that Consumer Reports intentionally omitted Sam's from the list. A Sam's membership is both cheaper and does not limit Credit Cards to Visa. Therefore you can get 5% cash back with PayPal, making it even cheaper. Conclusion: CR is a Costco shill

According to CR, Costco is -18% than Walmart in DFW. Therefore, Sam's is 1.54% cheaper than Costco relative to Walmart. If you read into their methodology, you will find that either they don't standardize per unit cost or that they've done a poor job at explaining their method.

@digthecataclysm @DHSgov How about: An "anchor baby", born in the USA, with non-citizen parents who snuck in illegally, should also be sent back to wherever his mom fled from and apply from there once 18?

An alien who is in the U.S. temporarily and wants a Green Card must return to their home country to apply. This policy allows our immigration system to function as the law intended instead of incentivizing loopholes. The era of abusing our nation’s immigration system is over.

re: frugality discourse, I made less than $70K post college, packed lunches, had roommates for 8 years in order to save lots of money. Then I bought land and built a house with savings. The anti-avocado toast boomers were 100% right. People are *completely* against tradfeoffs.

@bendespain @elonmusk @SciGuySpace V2 was a way to make up for the fact that v1 couldn’t separate during starship ignition. They added a separate hot state ring that is expendable, and an absolute mess. V3 fixes that by integration the hot staging ring into starship. Also raptor 3 is a major upgrade.

When Starship test flights began three years ago the US space industry still had a somewhat tentative view of its future. Now much of the industry is being bet on rapid, low-cost, super heavy lift. This evening's test flight is really, really important to validate this future.
