@realMichaelVB @DHSgov Why can't both of you travel to your country and get married. Why is it necessary to get married in US?

Homeland Security
An alien who is in the U.S. temporarily and wants a Green Card must return to their home country to apply. This policy allows our immigration system to function as the law intended instead of incentivizing loopholes. The era of abusing our nation’s immigration system is over.

I average about 12 likes and 200 impressions when I post my bird photos. But I just really like birds, so I share them anyways. This is a mountain bluebird, one of the prettiest birds in North America. This is the only one I've ever seen in Utah.

@PercivalSweetw2 @engineer_sal @DHSgov You mean most of those affected by tbe policy change are here on work visas, then after a long while applied for a greencard, and now because of having applied, they gotta go back? 😬 That's so twisted it's almost funny.

@engineer_sal @realMichaelVB @DHSgov You can’t get a green card off a tourist visa These are people who have lived and worked legally in the US for years, sometimes decades and we are forcing them to fly back to their home country for no reason other than conservatives despise immigrants?

At the time (3 decades ago) the process was somewhat comparable if i recall right, but nowadays it is extremely regulated with many steps with tight deadlines, supportive income requirements, etc. WAY stricter than the US. The EU is pretty much becoming a full-spectrum totalitarian nanny state with every stupidest thing requiring a permit and enduring endless red tape...

@realMichaelVB @SandwichesSoup @DHSgov What would the rules be for her in your country if the roles were reversed and she wanted to stay there with you? Would she have to apply for a visa or just be allowed to marry a local and stay forever?

@AkidfromA @salyercalvin1 @digthecataclysm @DHSgov You have to get married, apply for a permit to stay, and if you're not getting arrested or mess up in some way, after the conditional 3 years have passed you can then apply for citizenship and go through the vetting process. Nothing is just granted blindly.

@salyercalvin1 @realMichaelVB @digthecataclysm @DHSgov This is insane. If i got drunk and fell in love in europe during my college europe summer, does that make me a citizen of france/spain/italy? No. I fell in love several times. I don’t expect those countries to nationalize me

@EliotGevers @PatrickBissett @DHSgov It was easy in 1995, even as just a mediocre artist with computer office skills and some ancient forest preservation ambitions. If you get good at something aerospace-related, you will be welcomed with open arms. Make it happen!

@realMichaelVB @PatrickBissett @DHSgov Amazing to hear you made the jump from Belgium to the USA successfully. I want to work in the aerospace industry in the USA, just way more exciting and impactful than the European one. I wish my path were easier, but I am sure I will get there somehow!

"filthy" 🤔... describes something disgustingly dirty, morally corrupt, or offensively vulgar. She liked her job here, didn't speak none of my birth 🇧🇪country's languages, was kinda a no-brainer for me to move here🇺🇲 A lot of people who never left their valley having strong opinions on this, it seems...

“It is a perversion of terms to say that a charter gives rights.” Thomas Paine was right about rights. You have rights because you exist. But government has never been a big fan of that view. They prefer a population that thinks liberty is a privilege to be granted and withdrawn. Rights are not gifts from government. They don’t come from documents – not a constitution, not even a bill of rights.

"True ambitions"... Now there's a requirement! How about we🇺🇲 start requiring ANY human turning 18 living in the US to apply for US citizenship, regardless of birth place or parent status details, and be assessed for having AMBITION! Dreams not big enough?: Out! Also: MUST have a moral compass and alignment with core principles of insisting on individual liberty, for instance! In favor of vax mandates? Out with your totalitarian ass! (Maybe Austria or the Vatican will take you.)

The subverters of our Constitutional republic are replacing dignified just application of 'Rule of Law' with "Rule by Unrebutted Narratives," They further this subversive erosion through board meeting minutes and embedded submissions, from which they withhold the actually known-to-them existing rebuttals and known opposition voices. The general public gets a very distorted picture, but can see no reason to pick up on that. Since it's a bureaucratic hurdle to get anything submitted and actually included most narratives go unchallenged altogether. Over time it's the published narratives that are relied upon, not actual statutes, even if the narratives include blatantly false statements... In the near future these corrupt operatives, often elected through deception campaigns or outright election rigging, will use ai bots to stage comments, including with fraudulent identities, calling into Zoom board meetings with their faked identity names, purely to smear the reputations of the few voices they want silenced. These commenters, pretending to be someone real, will use slurs and insults, sound unreasonable, overly emotional, disrespectful, unhinged, antisemitic, and so forth, all to create a very wrong impression of someone. Most people will fall for it: same name, voice sounds it's him/her, soon with deepfakes: totally looks like him/her; and they'll believe it. The person ends up socially isolated; the public records will attribute contributions to his/her name, totally contradicting his/her actual stance... A solid cryptographically secure digital "eID", such as Belgium adopted over 2 decades ago, is the only way i can see how online meeting participants' identities can be vetted as legit truthful. Opposition to Digital ID only makes sense to me if you favor the complete obliteration of the trustworthiness of open meetings' public records, especially those for which attendance is often online.
