Iran should sue the US and Israel for compensation. Extorting money from countries that did not attack it is blackmail. Hormuz is not man-made like Panama or Suez and collecting toll for natural waters is a violation of the law of the sea.

The Strait of Hormuz has operated under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, which guarantees "transit passage" through international straits. No fees. No permission needed. Reports say Tehran has been using Larak Island as a tolling stop, charging up to $2 million per vessel. At pre-war traffic of 138 ships per day, that would generate over $100 billion annually. Even at the current trickle of 6-12 ships per day, the revenue adds up fast. But here's where the narrative gets complicated. Shipping insider Ed Finley-Richardson argues the "toll booth" story is largely overstated. His point is simple: the IRGC is an OFAC-sanctioned terrorist organization. Any compliant, insured Western-linked shipping company that sends money to them risks frozen bank accounts, secondary sanctions, and blacklisting. The entire industry runs on strict compliance. Legitimate tanker operators aren't casually wiring millions to sanctioned entities. The ships that may be paying are the shadow fleet vessels already in Iran's orbit, not the mainstream companies that move the bulk of global trade. For those compliant operators, the Strait remains effectively closed regardless of any toll arrangement because paying it would destroy their business. Iran told mediators it would limit crossings to about 12 ships per day. Before the war, over 100 crossed daily. So even under the best case, Tehran is throttling 88% of normal traffic while trying to monetize what's left. The reality on the water: 800+ ships still stranded. Six made it through today. For the Trump administration to understand: The Strait of Hormuz is NOT OPEN. The UAE does not and will NEVER accept the Islamic regime in Iran imposing CONDITIONS on access. The UAE is not Britain or the EU. It does not accept any terrorist actor restricting freedom of navigation. As for Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia negotiating to keep the regime afloat, understand this: no state has a legitimate right to decide who may pass and under what terms. That is international law, not a bargaining chip. Shame on United Kingdom, NATO, European Union, and anyone who tolerates this regime’s terrorism and piracy.

Sorry for getting all my analysis wrong. The war was a resounding success! Iran will now open the Strait of Hormuz that was open before the war started The same Strait the U.S. could have opened, but asked NATO to help open, and NATO refused to open, and now Trump is threatening NATO for not opening the Strait that was open. We also executed a soft launch of the new and improved Iranian regime, swapping Khamenei Sr for Khamenei Jr and locking in another 40-50 years of continuity. Oh, and we liberated the Iranian people after threatening to erase their entire civilization. We didn't wipe their country off the map, so technically, we saved them from ourselves. You're welcome Iran. Lastly, we brought peace to the Gulf that had peace before the war, and we could not bring peace to Lebanon that didn't have peace before the war

Compare it with your maid or driver ( if you don't want to divulge whatever not so high fee ur daughter had to pay ) . The only reason is my engineering were a factor of 30 times lesser than that of my daughter's

For my maids and driver’s kids they studied in govt schools with tuition from me to ensure they do well. Cost was minimal for them but substantial amt of time twice/week in taking up math/science
