Vacation culture has gotten a little out of control to me. I live in southeast Tennessee, in the woods with my family and my dogs, and most of the time I do not have this huge itch to leave. We travel every now and then, but there is something really nice about actually enjoying the life you already have. People act like you’re supposed to always be planning the next trip, the next flight, the next escape. Then half the time you come home tired, behind, and wondering why you spent all that money to need a vacation from the vacation. America is huge. Especially where I live, I can drive a few hours and see mountains, rivers, small towns, lakes, back roads, and some of the prettiest places in the country. But honestly, some of my favorite days are just being home with my dogs, my family, the woods, and nowhere we have to be. That feels like rest to me.

Why aren’t “America’s doctors” moving to ban alcohol? Alcohol is a massive driver of hospital admissions and American deaths. Kratom and weed are not.

It's easy to tell when a woman is in rebellion to her God-given authority (her husband) when she asks these questions after reading any comments about a wife's responsibility in marriage. “What's his responsibility? How's he supposed to treat me? Isn't he to love me as Christ loved the Church?" She has no desire to look at her own faults but only at her husband's faults. A woman with a soft and teachable heart won't ask those questions. When she reads or hears the truth about her role in marriage, her eyes are opened, she feels grief for her fault in her marriage, repents, and works on becoming the wife God has called her to be.

I’m a “chubby” person or “thick” or “zaftig” or whatever word people want to use and no one mocks me in public. I feel much more comfortable in my decidedly not skinny body in NYC than any other place I’ve lived.
