"Our campaign is bigger than the bill; it is about culture change, it is about ensuring that this government fulfils its promises, that outsourcing becomes a thing of the past, and that insourcing becomes a clear policy focus. We remain committed and united as a movement in the fight to return our Facility Management members to the public sector and ensure we have strong public services for all." - Lori Holmes, PCS, speaking at the Employments Rights Bill Rally in London today.

"Since 2019 £8m of public funding has been given to 13 arms companies who have supplied weapons and equipment to Israel during its illegal occupation and bombardment of Gaza and the West Bank. Not a single penny of public funding should go to any company profiting from the displacement and genocide of the Palestinian people." - Lynsey Morgan, SEC

@sherbet_01 @RupertLowe10 Tell me you don’t know what a civil servant is without telling me you don’t know what a civil servant is. 🤡
English

@RupertLowe10 I agree. Can you also ask “how mich money did you spend last week on lunches and travel”. It seems civil servants are dining out on taxpayers money. This should be stopped.
English

Paid pensions. Issued passports and driving licenses. Collected taxes. Worked in prisons, museums and Royal households. Registered ownership of properties, served as ushers in our courts…
Long and short of it is, Rupert, we keep this country going.
What have you been up to?
Rupert Lowe MP@RupertLowe10
Let's send an email to the entire British civil service with the question - what did you do last week? The answer for thousands? Sod all. Brutal cuts are required. Afuera!
English

@GenealogyJuden @wizard_waterloo @Crampsam @implausibleblog No, I wouldn’t, because the UK has signed up to the 1951 Refugee Convention that stipulates any person can apply for asylum in any country.
English

@PCSYMN @wizard_waterloo @Crampsam @implausibleblog if they neither speak english nor can point to any connections, would you support their being sent back? makes total sense why they'd do it, but it's our choice whether we allow it
English

Man with slick hair, "I find it quite disgusting how we're talking about human beings who are genuinely.. And it's not illegal to claim asylum in a foreign country"
"Saying they're illegal immigrants.. They're asylum seekers and refugees" #BBCQT
"Illegal immigrants tend to be people who come here legally and overstay a visa, or an application. That's the majority of illegal immigrants"
"We know other countries take on a lot more refugees than we ever do"
"Calling these people: the invaders"
"Or dehumanising them so we can point a finger at them saying: you're the reason we have a housing shortage.. But we've only built 250,000 council houses since Thatcher came into power.. Before that we built 5 million"
"Why do people claim that immigrants are the problem when it's recent governments that are the problem"
English

@xeode @wizard_waterloo @Crampsam @implausibleblog The choice isn’t, or should not be, “let people die/suffer persecution” or “build housing.” We can, and should, do both.
English

@PCSYMN @wizard_waterloo @Crampsam @implausibleblog they've built a similar (insufficient) amount for years despite periods of saying 'enough is enough' and a new scheme of sweeteners to build are lavished on developers that don't change a thing. we shouldn't blame the migrants for wanting to move here, just can't before housing
