Possibly unpopular opinion: this is in fact good. Current LMMs are better at writing accessible summaries of scientific articles than >95% of the scientists who wrote those articles. (Caveat: I don’t know what LMM JSTOR is using, and their specific implementation may suck.)

Academic core facilities bring continuity while enabling access to disruptive technology quickly to research groups. Balancing the dualities of flexibility and standardization , robustness and customization are part of our everyday life.
