I have arrived in Kisumu, Kenya, at the invitation of H.E. William Ruto, to join him in launching the Naivasha–Kisumu–Malaba Standard Gauge Railway. This is a strategic project that will reduce the cost of transport, ease the movement of goods, and deepen economic integration within East Africa. I look forward to this engagement.

@Parliament_Ug has passed the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights (Amendment) Bill, 2025, setting stiff penalties for copyright infringement. The Bill proposes fines of up to UGX 50m and imprisonment of up to 10 years or both, for various copyright-related offences. It strengthens Uganda's intellectual property framework to better protect original works of authorship, including literary, scientific and artistic creations. #GCICMediaReview #OpenGovUg

#PressRelease || @KawalaRachael || Police in Matugga have successfully recovered a three-year-old girl who had allegedly been kidnapped, and two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident. It is alleged that on 8th March 2026 at about 1200 hours, the child left home to play with friends in the neighbourhood but did not return. Her mother searched for her in vain. At about 1800 hours, the victim’s grandmother received a WhatsApp message containing a photograph of the child, with the sender demanding UGX 40 million as ransom for her release. A case of a missing child was immediately opened at Matugga Police Station, and search efforts commenced without delay. Police later arrested two suspects, Selwanja Godfrey and Ntege Shakib, in connection with the kidnapping. The victim was successfully recovered from Kayilira Village, Buwambo Ward, Gombe Division in Wakiso District, at the home of one of the suspects, Ntege Shakib. The child was immediately rushed by the police task team for medical examination and attention. We would like to caution parents and guardians to closely monitor their children and remain vigilant in order to prevent such incidents of abuse and ensure their safety. Pro.Kmp
