Small business owners stay small because once they reach a level of incompetence, rather than admitting they suck, they change their goal then justify it to themselves. Rather than just getting better.

@ItsKieranDrew Guilty of this in the past [Fiction writing habits die hard]. Now no more. I have come to understand that as a marketer, if the hook is not attractive enough, there's no point in writing further. As a newsletter founder, this is even more profound.

Use the ‘But & Therefore’ rule Terrible storytelling focus on a logical sequence of events. This happens, and then this happened, and then this happened. It’s boring. Swap ‘and then’ with ‘but’ or ‘therefore’ and see how much more exciting your story becomes.
