The people cheering the submarine attack on the IRIS Dena seem to forget that the U.S. Navy has surface vessels that could have captured the ship, and held the crew (or allowed them to defect). But apparently, it was important to prove that the Navy can still torpedo a frigate.

I was tempted but being a lower middle-class kid, I figured I needed to get on with life and start making real money. I wish I could've, though. 🫤

I have said this to multiple classes of young men and women who ask me about going to grad school, because it was said to me, and it's still great advice for anyone thinking of pursuing a graduate degree (especially a PhD).
