@HabCorpLinguist I agree. Had these sentences started with “however,” no one would question the comma (but starting sentences w/ “however” is disfavored). The comma after “but” feels comfortable. For a short punchy sentence like “But that is wrong” though, it reads smoother with no comma, imo.

Once again this turns out to hinge on the fact that dogs aren’t people. Groceries for humans is tax exempt in most states as an effort at progressivity, but dogs aren’t humans so the logic doesn’t apply to dog food. slowboring.com/p/dogs-arent-p…

@mathieuhelie We've had a lot of success working with some unions, but for most unions, if the policy doesn't directly and explicitly benefit their members, and ideally their members alone, they won't lift a finger to help. It's sad!
