If coding actually does get replaced by AI it's gonna be super ugly The last 30-40 years appear to have been a gradually intensifying "revenge of the nerds" fever dream, and non-techies really did not enjoy watching these people make 250k/yr remotely without degrees I predict low levels of sympathy in the case of mass coder layoffs

The German tax system is broken. For a family with two children: - €1,100 rent - €140 heating costs Both parents are working. Whether you earn €3k or €6k pre-tax, you end up with roughly the same net income. Why would anyone work more to earn the same?

Say that transformers were not invented in 2017, ChatGPT not released in 2022 and LLMs, OpenAI, GH Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf would not exist today. How would *software engineering* be different? How would developing software be different without LLM tools? (serious question!)

I cannot remember the last time I saw six police officers together in Britain. But here they are, arresting two parents, in front of their children, for complaining about their local school in a Whatsapp group. Britain is completely and utterly lost. It used to be the home of individual liberty; now it’s morphing before our very eyes into an Orwellian nightmare. We need a political revolution to restore common sense. And we need it now.
