Dusk is finally out - it's a native PC (and Linux, Mac, iOS, Android) reimplementation of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. You get higher resolutions, smoother framerates, and a bunch of quality of life options (my favorite being gyro aim, very needed.) You can play it pretty close to the original or with modern tweaks, whatever you prefer. You will however need a dump of Twilight Princess to be able to play, whatever you do, don't check the link in my bio... @Lachlan347499 @slime_machine my analogy is looking at demos of shitty games on steam, like previously even if a game was abysmal dogshit you could at least say that the game was made by a person willing to make this game. now you can't really say that, even if a game has a "not made with ai" tag on it

@slime_machine Language is the most depressing example but I feel similar when looking at shit like GitHub repos online. If someone put 1000 lines of code up even if it was dogshit there was a beauty in knowing someone cared enough to make it and that every line was some expression of that care

really grappling with what the internet has become through AI, there was a beauty in the idea that whatever you saw written was human, people had to figure out what to say and how to say it and their style would emerge from that process, all exchanged for unensouled em dash slop

@SuperWiiBros08 @troonslop yeah I think people forget they're trying to release the full game at once. I'd say we're lucky for even getting little bits like we've been getting.

@troonslop They've been reworking the entire engine to make it as stable and well polished as possible and there's so so much content they don't wanna spoil it like any other game dev team.
