Denny Hamlin, "upon further review", absolved Cody Ware of blame for the caution that cost Hamlin the win at Kansas on Actions Detrimental today. Had a lot of good things to say about Rick Ware Racing as a team but felt they put Cody in a no-win situation going 60+ laps on tires. "That is not Cody Ware's fault. I've got nothing but respect for Rick Ware and his team, Tommy Baldwin, I'm fans of them because they are the true underdogs. They actually run decent considering what they have. ... The 51 actually has decent pace considering his resources." ... "I don't put it on Cody that the tire blew. He's clearly limping around the last few laps, you can see he slowed his corner speeds down. But where's the team saying 'bring it to pit road'? 'We've got an issue, you just got in the wall, we've got an issue. Let's come check it out.' He will not gain, he will not lose anything. So why not just come down, check the thing out?" Hamlin actually raised the concern of the 51 team risking tearing up their car by doing that, which they can't afford to do as a low-budget team. "That thing could've easily, since he blew a right rear, backed into the wall. Well now you've got a clip, and you're spending a bunch of money because you didn't want to put a couple thousand dollar set of tires on it. "That's on the team. That's on the crew chief to look out for your guy. You know you can't run 60 laps. That's ridiculous."
