Structural works are well advanced, with reinforced concrete columns and load-bearing pillars already erected to support the expanded spectator terraces and the canopy roofing system. Substructure and superstructure works are progressing steadily, alongside preparations for the installation of a world-class tartan running track. The redesigned project now meets Confederation of African Football (CAF) standards, significantly scaling up from the initial concept. It will feature modern changing rooms, a sports shop, a restaurant and a VIP terrace, positioning Ruring'u as a premier venue for both football and athletics in the Mount Kenya region. This investment advances both security and social outcomes by engaging youth in sports, talent development and related jobs, reducing vulnerability to crime, illicit alcohol and substance abuse. The State Department for Internal Security and National Administration continues to play a critical role in ensuring a secure environment and supporting community stability around such transformative projects.
