2 days before the fire Pacific Palisades citizen John Alle expressed grave concern with Mayor Karen Bass. Alle challenged Bass on leaving Los Angeles with known wind conditions after a dry season. Yesterday, after almost 16 months, John Alle bravely stepped into the spotlight. This video captures the recording from 1/4/25 - just 2 days prior to the unnatural disaster Palisades fire that should NEVER have happened. - Bass left with NO Deputy Mayor of Public Safety who had called a b*mb threat to City Hall. - Bass left with a 1/1 fire still smoldering on state grounds above the Palisades due to a protected plant. - Bass left with up to 40% of fire apparatus not available or inoperable. - Bass left her Fire Chief who Bass later fired. - Bass left the Palisades with a reservoir nearly empty and limited water pressure as a result. - LA City predeployed limited fire people the day of the fire. Bass erased all texts despite requests from LA Times. - According to LA Times Bass then conspired to impact the LA Fire After Action Report. As citizens we demand to know what happened. City and State claimed complete immunity and judge denied thank goodness. We want all discovery NOW. 1) Address these allegations. We want to understand fact from fiction. 2) Set policy that doesn’t allow for this to happen to any other community in Los Angeles ever again. 3) Learn from this ineptitude and gross negligence. The people of Altadena and Pacific Palisades paid a climate tax last year. They lost their homes. They didn't do the polluting, yet they paid the price. That is wrong. Polluters need to pay.

Here are the text messages CA State Parks didn't want you to see! Smoking gun texts between two State Park employees who surveyed the Lachman burn scar on Jan. 2nd reveal one of them told her supervisor that she saw "smoke/smoldering roots popping up here and there" after the LAFD had rolled up their hoses and left the scene. In her deposition yesterday, Maegan Ealy, a former forestry aid at CA State Parks, testified that Noa Rishe, her supervisor, called her on Nov. 20, 2025 to ask her about the Lachman Fire. This call occurred days after we obtained a court order on Nov. 17th to depose State Park employees who responded to the Lachman Fire. Ealy told Rishe that when she went to the Lachman burn scar on Jan. 2nd to photograph fire suppression damage with her partner, Michael Moss, she saw "smoke/smoldering roots" and used "fire tools" to put out the hot spots. This report aligns with the testimony of LAFD firefighter Scott Pike, who testified that he saw "smokers" and "red hot coals" on Jan. 2nd when firefighters were rolling up hoses preparing to leave the scene. Ealy and Moss said they arrived just as those firefighters were leaving the burn scar. During her deposition yesterday, when pressed to explain her text messages, Ealy testified that she must have "misremembered" seeing smoke/smoldering roots at the Lachman burn scar and that she must have confused her memory with the Palisades Fire a week later. When asked if she ever told anyone that her report of seeing smoke/smoldering roots at the Lachman burn scar was false, she said she hadn't told anyone (other than the State's lawyer). In our opinion, the credibilty of her testimony is highly suspect. The fact that the State failed to produce these text messages in response to mulitple court orders and Public Records Act requests also raises questions about why the State suppressed these texts during discovery. The State filed an unsuccessful demurrer claiming it had no notice or knowledge of smoldering embers creating a dangerous condition on the Lachman burn scar despite the fact that Ealy told her supervisor that she saw smoke and smoldering roots on Jan. 2nd. We intend to hold the State and the State Attorney General's Office accountable for any and all discovery violations.
