Aside from getting the facts wrong as usual—hard to say if they’re from his sycophants or from Putin’s, the idea that helping a democratic ally defend itself from invasion and occupation is "prolonging the war" as a negative is abhorrent.

This is categorically false. Not merely a stretch, but a straight-up lie. Congress (not Biden alone) appropriated roughly $188 billion total for Ukraine-related support from 2022–2024. NOT $350 billion. Of that, the bulk (~$110–130B in security/military categories) stayed right here in the U.S., paying American defense contractors & replenishing our own stockpiles. Actual direct financial ("cash") support to Ukraine was roughly $31–38B. Those funds were tracked by the World Bank and were audited by firms like KPMG & Deloitte. We were not writing blank checks. It's extremely frustrating to watch this President demonize an ally while downplaying Putin as the aggressor. This administration has ended new U.S. financial/military support for Ukraine (they can buy via the EU if needed). Combined with eased sanctions on Russia and the President's moral ambiguity on the war, it is just a complete betrayal that I will never, ever understand. Polls show that the vast majority of Americans are very much clear eyed about this — we support Ukraine and we sympathize with Ukraine. Our President does not reflect that majority view.

U.S. aid to Ukraine is not the reason the war continues. It continues because Russia invaded Ukraine and, every day, makes a conscious choice to keep waging war. If they all go home, we won't follow, you know?
If he means that without U.S. help, especially in the beginning, much more Ukrainian territory would have been occupied and turned into one gigantic Bucha, then yes, he's probably right. But occupation doesn't end war, it merely masks war crimes and silences the victims.

As for why the war continues. One of the main reasons is you and your impotence. Instead of holding your war criminal buddy Putin accountable, you invite him to the U.S. and hang his portrait in your office.

We already know that Russia is not the big bad wolf that you try to make them into. If you want to know where it started it was Goldman Sachs. They were feuding with the Russians way back in the turn of the 20th century. Ukraine is the hub for child trafficking and money laundering and everything wicked comes from that region. I'm sick of our money going to them and we trust the president of the United States to dismantle the new world order. That's what We the People voted for and that's what We the People are going to get.

@Kasparov63 After he got elected, Trump mentioned moving the German troops to Hungary. It appears that this was based on Orban's status. Had Orban prevailed, they were probably headed to Hungary.

As I’ve said since that first Trump term, we may never know why Trump is so loyal to Putin. Bribery? Blackmail? Affinity for dictators & oligarchs? KGB asset? All of the above? More important is stopping him, because if he were a Russian agent, what would he do differently?

Trump has been threatening such reductions to a number of European and Asian allies going back to his first term. This particular announcement comes the same day he spoke with Putin - and it’s a development Russia would certainly welcome.
