“Tax the rich” ignores reality: affluent New Yorkers help fund the very services people rely on. They support nonprofits that fill government gaps and directly employ thousands of middle-class New Yorkers, while those nonprofits distribute $27–$31B annually. The city, financially, is in dire straights. The mayor is begging for bailouts on live TV. Yet, the city has no issue handing out hundreds of millions to @NYC_DOT to appease TransAlt and the bicycle lobbyists. Oh by the way, Central Park is two blocks away.

Park Ave. got its name because a century ago it had a literal park in the median. Now, at last, the park is coming back (from E.46th to E.57th). With reduction of two lanes of traffic, there will be wider sidewalks, an urban forrest in the median, benches, space for cultural programming, potentially a bike lane etc. There are two final designs and you can vote on which you prefer. Create more gridlock by removing 2 lanes and more pedestrian conflicts by putting a high speed ebike expressway in the middle for bikes to ignore red lights and run over pedestrians. All hail the ebike because the 2% on ebikes are the only people who matter. No one else does.

New York, let's get organized. In a city of over 8 million, just 400 people showed up to speak at the last Rent Guidelines Board hearing — where decisions about rents are made. We can do better. I’ve worked and lived in this neighborhood for decades. I would love for someone @NYC_DOT to enlighten me on what is wrong with this current design and why people who work 12 hour days need a goddamned park in the middle of a commercial area when we eat lunch at our desks.

Taking away car lanes and putting green park is nostalgia and in order for the city move ahead you need vehicles and tech. Nice to see NYC putting the ‘park’ back in Park Avenue. The concept is similar to the camellón of Avenida Amsterdam in CDMX and @planproformus concept of PlayWays.

In Brooklyn a old Asian man was struck and killed by a e-bike delivery on Ave u and East 12 street Brooklyn. It was on the news 2025. Please confirm 111 pedestrians, a bike is considered a vehicle too genius

The NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani stated NYC is in money problems again and stated the reason why is because the last Mayor ( @ericadamsfornyc ) mismanaged the budget. The @NYCMayor stated he calls on the NYS governor @KathyHochul to bail out the city . If NYC is serious about saving money they should look into all the migrant shelter contracts which now morphed into the housing crisis and start making cuts. The money taxpayers are paying for this is insane and a lot of these contractors are robbing taxpayers blind.

As Waymos gain traction, cities will reduce on-street parking and travel lanes. Cities will build more sidewalks, bus lanes, and bike lanes. People will walk more. Both Waymos AND walking infrastructure will simultaneously fuel the reduction of surface level car travel lanes.

There will be two stages to road transformation. In the first stage, all vehicles will become electric and autonomous. This will reduce accidents, noise, and pollution. We are already starting this transition, and it will be complete by 2035. In the second stage, tunnels will be built to allow autonomous electric traffic to operate underground. This will further improve safety, eliminate noise, decrease travel times, and free the surface for other uses. The construction of these tunnels will be enabled by the low-cost labor of humanoid robots and automated construction equipment. Construction of tunnels will begin in a few years, with significant progress by 2035. Surface streets will become areas for sitting and dining outdoors, with trees, gardens, fountains, and pools to fit our new leisure lifestyle.
