@reshoftroy I would say if you stuck to my 5 pieces of advices you wouldn’t degrade anybody. When writing I was thinking about a women specific one but it didn’t form in my head in time. Something like, treat every woman with the same decency you would want someone to treat your mother.

I watched Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere. It left me with a profound sense of sadness for young men. I do believe there is truth in some of the themes expressed in the documentary by the influencers but I fundamentally disagreed with the path they are leading young men towards. What was most tragic, is how these influencers actually exploit the same people they pretend to represent and lift up. Here is my advice to young men as a counter to what was being offered; 1. Family is the greatest flex. There is not one material object in my life that is more important than my wife and my child. They are joy maximizers and reflect back / enhance the love that I invest into them in ways that are impossible to explain. Yes cars are fun and watches are nice. But a man’s family tells you more about him than the inanimate objects he possesses. 2. You are at your best when in service to others. After a while, doing things solely for yourself starts to feel meaningless. Yes, earning money and becoming financially stable is important (even better if you’re financially independent), but if you’re not sharing that with the people you care about, life will feel empty. Bring people on the journey with you. 3. Be a net contributor to society. This is about pride and self respect. In anything you do, always give more than you take. 4. Be consistent with your values. By doing this you build trust with the people around you. They may not always agree with you but they will know where you stand. This will define your character and allow people to feel safe around you. 5. Protect the society you contribute to and the values you hold. Be strong and learn to fight (physically and verbally). The primary purpose of this is to protect those around you. Only physically impose yourself on people as a last resort. netflix.com/title/81920687
