If ₹7 lakhs is a stretch, then the Amex Platinum Travel is not for you.

🚨 Amex Platinum Travel milestones are being reshaped.
It’s confirmed — Amex said so on chat.
Earlier structure:
- ₹1.9L → 15,000 points
- ₹4L → 25,000 points + Taj voucher
New structure (from March 2026):
- ₹1.9L → 7,500 points
- ₹4L → 10,000 points
- ₹7L → 22,500 points + Taj voucher
Everyone’s favourite 4L card is now effectively a 7L card.
Here’s how the effective return changes:
- 4L → 8.23%
- 7L → 5.21%
(Assuming ₹0.6 per MR and base rewards on all spends.)
🤔 Also watch for changes to MRCC and Gold Charge — they’re paused for a reason.

Trail of events for my Avios Card (Qatar Airways × IndusInd) ✈️💳
A slightly strange (and confusing) experience so far; sharing for awareness 👇
Saturday
• Applied for the Avios card (thanks to @Kenu73 for helping me decide)
• VKYC completed within minutes
• ❌ No application number, no confirmation email
• Received multiple emails saying “application incomplete”, but the Resume button didn’t work
Monday
• @MyIndusIndBank social media team confirmed my card is approved & generated
• Even shared the last 4 digits of the card
• ❌ Still no official email/SMS
• ❌ Card not visible on IndusInd Bank app
Tuesday
• Again received “application incomplete” email
• Ignored it, assuming system lag
Wednesday
• Early morning call to customer care (022-44066666)
• Dedicated Avios team confirmed again that the card is approved & generated
• Told I will receive card details only after dispatch, and the app will reflect it post that
• Later the same day, a bank representative visited my residential address (I was at office), asking for ID proof and basic details
Now here is the part I genuinely don’t understand:
• The card was already approved & generated
• This was confirmed multiple times via customer care and social media team
• Last 4 digits of the card were already shared
If approval and card generation are already done, what exactly is the purpose of address verification after approval?
In my experience (I hold 8 active credit cards with a strong credit history), physical verification typically happens before approval, not after.
Happy to understand if this is a new compliance step specific to Avios cards, but the sequence felt odd and unclear.
• Post this, I received an email from Qatar Airways asking me to confirm my email ID
→ Looks like IndusInd initiated creation of a new QR account
(My QR account email was different; phone number was the same. Luckily no Avios balance impact.)

❌ No official communication yet
❌ No visibility on app
❓ Card whereabouts unknown

IndusInd geniuses have ended the program now. Earlier the offer period was till 31st Jan and now it’s 6th Jan.
Goes on to show the shamelessness of the bank to end the offer midway. What kind of bank is this!?

Now that they’ve removed the offer, the entire gymnastics just isn’t worth the effort, even if they decide to bring it back later. 🤦♂️ With co-branded cards, where two parties are involved (the bank and the brand), it’s absolutely essential for the bank to be customer-friendly, especially when it comes to service issues around points and bonus benefits. 💳✨ But when it comes to IndusInd Bank, their customer care is usually completely clueless about the offer, to the point where they would blatantly lie just to escape accountability. 😤🚫 Recent case: IndusInd Bank hasn’t given the promised 25% cashback on their JCB RuPay Platinum Card, and guess what their customer care said? “IndusInd does not issue a JCB-RuPay credit card.” 😳 (Screenshot attached) This is despite me sending them a screenshot of the offer email sent by IndusInd Bank themselves. 🤦🏻♂️
