Electricity is an enabler. AI is NOT an enabler! AI maybe maybe MAYBE - can be an enhancer. One day! But it SURELY is NOT essential. It's deceptive ''forward looking statement''. Decades back - investors were able to sue company leaders for ''deceptive forward looking statement''. This statement is purely of religious kind. Statistics on the ground prove the EXACT OPPOSITE! Don't believe sales people. Remember: First ''AI was like internet...'' then ''AI is like electricity... what's next? ''AI is like water...''? I know that ''AI is like casino'': you hope to get something big - but it's only the house that always wins!

Jeff Bezos just delivered the clearest definition of what artificial intelligence actually is. The market is still debating which department should own the AI budget. They’re asking the wrong question entirely. Bezos: “AI, modern AI is a horizontal enabling layer. It can be used to improve everything. It will be in everything. This is most like electricity.” This isn’t a software product. It’s the new utility grid of the global economy. Don’t treat it like a feature update. Treat it like the invention of alternating current. When a horizontal layer hits the board, it doesn’t improve a single vertical. It violently rewrites the baseline physics of every industry it touches. The companies that survive this decade won’t be the ones that bought a new AI tool. They’ll be the ones that ripped out their entire infrastructure and rewired the execution engine to run on the new grid. Bezos: “Because we are literally working on a thousand applications internally. I guarantee you there is not a single application that you can think of that is not going to be made better by AI.” The standard enterprise strategy is to launch one or two safe, isolated AI pilots and test the waters. You don’t pilot a horizontal enabling layer. You saturate the board immediately. Amazon isn’t building a single monolithic chatbot. It’s deploying a thousand specialized execution loops across every friction point in the empire. If your deployment strategy isn’t total saturation, you’re already bleeding margin to someone whose is. Interviewer: “What is it that you’re doing at Amazon?” Bezos: “AI. It’s 95% AI.” The standard CEO delegates automation strategy to a mid-level committee while focusing on quarterly earnings. The operator commanding a trillion-dollar supply chain is spending 95 percent of his personal bandwidth on a single vector. That is the market signal. If the leader of your organization isn’t driving algorithmic integration from the top down with everything they have, the company is already dead. It just hasn’t received the memo yet.

AI isn’t electricity. It’s software. Tokens aren’t a resource, they’re a meter. The “AI as a utility” story is marketing designed to justify an extraordinary burn rate. Labs take cheap compute, wrap it in tokens, and sell it back at a premium while the cost of errors and inefficiency quietly lands on the user. In practice, the token economy looks less like infrastructure and more like a slot machine. A token doesn’t buy accuracy or repeatable success, it buys a spin. Miss the target? Pull the lever again. Another retry. More tokens. You can watch it happen in real time in agent backlogs: endless retries, silent failures, loops that go nowhere. Nobody looks too closely. People trust the AI even while knowing it quietly fails and wanders into dead ends. The best answers live in the tail of the distribution, so getting there often means paying for a long streak of misses. So users don’t just pay for answers. They pay for attempts. And the system doesn’t really learn from those wins. The same problems get solved thousands of times, but the successes aren’t meaningfully cached or reused. Every user walks up to the same machine and pays for the same spins. Conveniently, that’s also where the revenue comes from. The math is simple: the longer the game runs, the more the house makes. You’re not just paying for answers. You’re paying for the misses, the retries, the electricity, the lights, and the rent. And like any good casino, the house is very happy to let you keep playing.
