@devahaz Are “exploding offers” prevalent in tech (i.e. accept by end of day/within 2-3 days or else rescinded)?

@frameworks Yes, but you can almost always have a normal discussion with recruiter/hiring manager and get it extended for a reasonable amount of time

@frameworks @devahaz Ime it happens, but not a rule. Personally I don’t like it as I see it as a bit manipulative, in case it’s really rushed. (A company can’t wait on you 4ever and risk other leads as well, but there are reasonable delays.) considering your options is normal.

@frameworks @devahaz Depends on the company and candidate. It's common for no-name companies to not even mention any offer in writing unless they know the candidate intends to accept.

@frameworks @devahaz My last job the recruiter verbally gave me a week (engineering, pretty low intensity) and my current role even had a clause in the offer letter saying it's only valid for 5 business days (so a week).
