@PFEW_HQ @policecommander I love the job but this is disheartening. We are there all the time, literally have no say so into anything and this is just appalling. We are still treated as if we don’t matter at all. Angry just doesn’t even explain it anymore. Do something about it !!

National Chair Steve Hartshorn: “Govt. wants police officers to take one for the team and ignore everything else. “Enough is enough. Give them the 17% rise they deserve to bring them at par with all public sector workers.” #FairPayForPolice Read the full article 👇

Oh great cherry on top… so get the police to look like a bunch of scum, disregard officers are assaulted or injured on duty , don’t pay them proper, but then you expect saving from anything that a normal person wouldn’t have to deal with. Sounds fair af. This PM is a joke.

@Redredred80 @metpoliceuk That’s what you have non emergency number for ! 🤦🏼‍♀️ the issue is misuse of 999 system for that when there is genuine people needing help 🤦🏼‍♀️ joke

@metpoliceuk Could he call out of worry that the cat would get lost eventually and would stray too far from its home? Still a bit extreme to call 999 for this though 😸

Calling 999 to report a cat following you is not an emergency. Calls like these prevent those who really need an urgent police response from getting through to us. #ThinkBeforeYouDial

@theshitshack @Brick_Cop @metpoliceuk @PFEW_HQ Our powers are limited -s136 cannot be used in their home…people do not realise how many calls officers receive about MH crisis at home and officers cannot do a thing there. Have to wait for other services. Officers are only trained on limited part of MH not all !

@Brick_Cop @metpoliceuk @PFEW_HQ I wonder how police who claim not to be trained in MH situations are going to be able to use their judgement to determine when and if there is a threat to life… how can police claim ignorance on the subject and then have such an important decision to make? That’s… negligent.

Response Cops are *happy* to go to most emergencies. That’s why they join emergency response. The unknown, new experiences. But when a large portion of calls are diverted from NHS 111 because there’s a threat to life with regards to someone’s #MentalHealth, there’s a major resourcing problem. We know the public want us visible, on patrol and responding to calls that matter to them, burglaries, robberies, theft, vehicle crime and so on, we get it. Freeing up Cops from constantly attending the majority of Mental Health calls will hopefully allow more of that. We’re happy to help anyone in need, but when we’re best placed to deliver that help. I’m intrigued how this policy will play out to be honest it will take a robust push back from leaders to make it happen. #ThinBlueLine 🚨

@Brick_Cop @Mad_Scots_Wench @metpoliceuk @PFEW_HQ All the MH calls I attended, was to assist the ambulance service, who then took the person to hospital. Those calls never took long. I take it now it is routine for the police attend & take the person to hospital, where they are then stuck for hours waiting to be seen.

@grahamwettone @LBC @clivebull Of course there is the one where anything MET does is wrong ! MH is not a crime police shouldn’t be dealing with it. But it’s easy to drop all on the MET cause of duty of care and then when Met realised the strain suddenly Met is in the wrong. Media are a joke !

@LBC @clivebull Did Humberside abandon them first? This process has already been in place but as soon as the Met are involved its headline news & criticism follows - is there an agenda at work perhaps?

On the 31st of august, the Met police will no longer be dealing with calls on mental health unless threat to life is feared. @CliveBull asks: Are the Met abandoning those suffering with their mental health?

@LBC @clivebull Why does no one talks about MH services actually taking responsibility for their calls ?! Police officers are not trained! Easy for everyone to criticise police?! Police officers are not therapist/ doctors / MH professionals ! How unfair! So angry now !

@policecommander @grahamwettone Of course NHS is saying it’s unhelpful they will have to attend! The amount of MH call we have to go to it’s concerning, not everyone can deal with those too! And absolutely agree majority are genuine ppl in need of MH support not prosecution!

No good Copper would ever turn their back on someone in need of help… But officers are not medics or MH professionals. And the very last place a person in MH crisis needs to be is in a cell or in the back of a police van. They are patients, not prisoners. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-657418…

I guess this means that all Paramedics are thieves then? No? Oh...That's right! It's only Cops that all get judged on the actions of a tiny minority! lbc.co.uk/news/mark-titl…

In my current and previous teams/units, If you start work at 06:00 and you are not dressed and ready in the briefing room by 5:55 then you are late. If the Inspector walks in to the briefing before you, even if it's 05:50 you are still late. Is this gospel or do you disagree?
