Airbus Defence and Space and @ArianeGroup have signed a new agreement to support the industrial ramp-up of the Ariane 6 launcher 🚀 continuing the long-standing collaboration 🤝 between the two companies. Under the agreement, Airbus Defence and Space in Spain will deliver 27 shipsets of lightweight carbon fibre structures, including: ➡️ Interface structures for the Ariane 6 main and upper stages ➡️ Launch vehicle adapters to connect and separate payloads ➡️ Upper parts for all Ariane 6 boosters By providing advanced carbon fibre technology, our teams directly contribute to the reliability and efficiency of Europe’s heavy-lift launcher and help ensure that Europe retains its independent access to space.

One year ago, Ariane 6 performed its first commercial mission. On March 6, 2025, flight VA263 successfully lifted off from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana, placing CSO-3 into Sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 800 km. This mission marked a major milestone: - Its first commercial launch - The completion of the CSO system Developed for the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) and CNES, for the benefit of the French Space Command, CSO-3 strengthens Europe’s space-based optical intelligence capabilities. Equipped with next-generation high-resolution instruments, the CSO system delivers critical Earth observation data for defense and security purposes, serving France and its European partners. (1/2)

Developed by ArianeGroup, Helix observes and tracks space objects from low Earth orbit (LEO) to cislunar space, delivering rapid and precise orbital data within the very first hours. This responsiveness is critical in an increasingly dense and contested space environment. Helix supports both civilian operators and defence stakeholders by anticipating collision risks, monitoring unusual behaviours and providing reliable situational awareness across thousands of tracked objects. On December 17, after Ariane 6 launched Galileo satellites, Helix detected and logged their exact positions and trajectories within two hours, demonstrating how reducing response time has become a strategic advantage in space. @ArianeGroup progress on the GRETA engine is a game changer for European launch capabilities

ArianeGroup and the European Space Agency (ESA) have signed a new contract under the Future Launchers Preparatory Programme to continue the development of the GRETA rocket engine. 🚀 The agreement follows a successful hot-fire campaign completed in 2025 in Germany. The German contribution to the development of GRETA is coordinated by @DLR_SpaceAgency. GRETA explores hydrogen peroxide and ethanol as alternatives to traditional hypergolic propellants, introducing new ignition and combustion challenges while improving sustainability and handling safety. 🔥 The campaign delivered critical data on combustion performance and cooling behaviour.
