Center for International Policy Research participated in the consultative meeting of Gulf Think Tank leaders, alongside: - Middle East Council on Global Affairs (Qatar) @ME_Council - Gulf Research Center (Saudi Arabia) @Gulf_Research - Muscat Policy Council (Oman) @MPC_Oman - Dubai Public Policy Research Centre "b’huth" (UAE) @bhuth_UAE -Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies "DERASAT" (Bahrain) @Derasatbh - Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies Center (Kuwait) The meeting featured an exchange of views on the current developments in the region, and discussions on ways to enhance coordination among Gulf think tanks, exchange assessments, and develop shared ideas and initiatives that contribute to supporting the region’s security and stability.

The Istituto Affari Internazionali, in partnership with @CIPResearch, was honoured to host the Qatar–Italy Policy Dialogue: Strengthening Ties Amid Shared Challenges, a private and invitation-only working lunch held on the sidelines of the @DohaForum on 7 December 2025. The meeting brought together senior representatives from government, diplomacy, business and key policy institutions from both countries for an in-depth exchange on the future of Qatar–Italy cooperation amid a rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape. Contributions from H.E. @majedalansari, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Qatar and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. @tripodimaria, Italy’s Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Luigi Di Maio, EU Special Representative for the Gulf (@EUSR_Gulf), enriched the discussion with high-level perspectives. Building on the strategic dialogue launched in 2022 and the long-standing diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations, the conversation explored ways to deepen bilateral collaboration, develop joint foreign policy approaches in regions affected by conflict, and expand cooperation across sectors such as energy, defence, economic partnerships, skills development and cultural diplomacy. Participants also examined shared challenges, with particular attention to de-escalation efforts and humanitarian responses to current crises impacting Europe and the Middle East, reflecting on Qatar’s central mediation role and Italy’s engagement within the European Union and the broader Mediterranean region. @ItalyinQatar @ItalyMFA @MofaQatar_EN @MariaFantappie
