Nottinghamshire Police tried to stop us reporting matters of public interest and when it didn't go the way they wanted it to, they reported us to our regulator. Thankfully, IPSO saw sense and threw their complaint out. For the Chief Constable to say now that this was a mistake is quite frankly pathetic. Instead of trying to protect their reputation, the force and Chief Constable should have been communicating properly with the people who really matter here - the families of the victims and the survivors of those horrific attacks. nottinghampost.com/news/nottingha…

Since early January 2026 BA has been deprived of her liberty in an accident and emergency ward of an acute hospital in London. That is to say she has been detained in a windowless room in a busy hospital for nearly two and a half months. She is accommodated and cared for there, as there is nowhere else to do so. I described this situation at the hearing on 3 March 2026 as intolerable. Intolerable for her, first and foremost. Intolerable for her distraught parents. Intolerable for the many other children who are in state detention in inappropriate settings because of the well-known lack of appropriate facilities to treat the mental health symptoms of highly vulnerable children. It is also unacceptable that a much needed NHS bed is unavailable for want of other more appropriate provision. Open justice requirements led me to conclude a short judgment should be published. caselaw.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ewhc/fam/2026/…

Must watch #BBCQT Caroline Lucas, "I think this is an illegal reckless war with Iran that is being waged by Trump and Netanyahu" "They have massively underestimated their enemy" "Trump is a bully and a blackmailer" "He has no plan for an exit strategy, says he will exit when he feels it in his bones" "This is a President said who said he would bomb Kharg island just for fun" "He suggested he might attack Cuba as well" "The type of language Trump and Hegseth are using is just so disgusting" "I've got their words: watch what happens to these deranged scumbags today, what a great honour to kill them" "This is not Grand Theft Auto, this is real people real lives" "And yet you get the sense from the White House that this is some big game" "And all of us are suffering from it"

Not a lot of people know this but most wizened journos do: Margaret Thatcher’s 1960 Private Members Bill gave the press the right to report on council meetings. In Nottinghamshire, Reform’s curbs on the freedom of the press lay bare the simple fact that they don’t like proper journalistic scrutiny.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but a womxn’s prostate doesn’t detract from her feminity. I seem to have attracted a raft of far right trolls who’ve literally been coming at me for the last 24 hours. I will not be shamed because of my shenis. Cope. 💋 🏳️‍⚧️

You can say “I think women who are denied an abortion and attempt one on their own as a desperate last resort should be charged with a crime and sent to jail”. You don’t need to lie and say “abortion up to birth had been legalised”. It hasn’t. Own what you believe.

Mixed-sex changing rooms are a predator’s paradise. Our FOI investigations revealed that in one year there were 16 rapes, 80 sexual assaults and 65 acts of voyeurism across 257 leisure centres in England and Wales. We have data from Northern Ireland (just in) that reveals more than 80% of sexual crimes perpetrated in changing rooms occur in mixed-sex facilities. This confirms previous research that shows mixed-sex changing is a crime scene waiting to happen. This is a national scandal. Sport England has doggedly stuck to its ‘moving to inclusion’ mantra even though time and again this has proved to be ‘moving to inclusion of sexual predators’. Delegates at One Swim - ask the questions, and report back to us… Links to our leisure centre reports in the next post. 5/6

@speakoutsister @dave43law @DailyMail Even if "abortion up to birth" existed, I always wondered who could actually believe a woman would go through 9 months of pregnancy and everything that involved, just to go "Oh, I can't be bothered?" at the last minute (and still need to go through a significant medical event).

@SVPhillimore Unreconstructed bigot certainly. The cuffs are cute and with fishnets and stilettos would be perfect court dress adding gravitas to even the most frivolous submissions.

@SVPhillimore The bow tie is a tad blingy IMHO but maybe suitable for the press post trial press conference and piss up.

🚨Essex Police has halted its use of facial recognition tech after identifying potential “bias risks”. This should serve as a wake-up call for the Government and police. We need urgent safeguards in place to protect us from the dangers of this tech. theguardian.com/technology/202…

@WalkAlanWalk @WingsScotland There are now more encarcerated transwomen sex offenders than women sex offenders in the UK. Not per capita, actually more as a hard number. From a supposed population of 49,000 (ONS Census), as opposed to 30 million women, there are around 150 transwomen, to just under 100 women
