My first week in the UK, I went to a Tesco store to buy a few things. I picked toothpaste, body oil, lubricant and big mayonnaise. I got a bag and, after putting the items inside, the bag suddenly tore and the mayonnaise broke. The first thing that ran through my mind was: “Chai… so I will have to pay for another one again?” 😪😭 While I was still deep in my sapa thoughts, about 2–3 staff members rushed to me saying: “Oh my darling.” “You alright?” “Bless you, my lovely.” “Are you hurt?” “Do I need to ring 999?” “Do you need medical attention?” “Are you sure you’re okay?” I was so confused like… what exactly is going on here? At the same time, I felt like a spoiled toddler being over-pampered. Then one of the staff members rushed to the aisle and replaced everything I bought. I mean everything. Water first Comot for my eyes 😭😭 In those moments I remembered my dear country…. If you’ve never travelled outside Nigeria, you might not understand how much we are actually suffering in that ZOO. 😔 If you’ve had a similar experience abroad, kindly share it with us. What shocked you the most when you first travelled?
So my backend engineer called my day before yesterday to inform me that he will be leaving the company 😔 He just signed a contract with a canadian company as their new CTO with 20% stake and $20k monthly pay I have been processing the Information since he Informed me and I don't know what to even say Have never worked with anyone half competent as this guy Was even discussing our new phase of development few weeks ago and immediately I mentioned what I want us to build, he said "mad ooo; let's build" I don't know if I should be happy for him or what I'm expected to do now? This is more than a heartbreak to me Working with someone that knows what the hell they are doing and also believes in your project is a bliss; I experienced it first hand with this dude! i went to the gym after one small quarrel. You know, the kind of quarrel that qualifies as cardio. I came back home, minding my business, and casually entered the bathroom to freshen up… and boom. Madam had left the pregnancy strip there like an exhibit in a museum. No announcement. No speech. No drumroll. Just vibes and a test strip. I checked it, and I smiled. And honestly, even as a gynaecologist who has seen thousands of positive pregnancy tests, this one hit different. Very different. Premium positive. Then I screamed: “THIS BABY DID NOT EVEN ALLOW US ENJOY THIS MARRIAGE OOOO!” One month into marriage. ONE MONTH. 😃 This child said: “No honeymoon. No peace. Report for duty.” I went to gym angry… I came back promoted to fatherhood. Life has a wicked sense of humour. We hugged each other and smashed the quarrel. I made a special english dinner for us... was such a night.
