What everyone is missing is that The Boring Company will pay for the tunnel system. It can cost as little as $10 million per mile. Just an extra lane in New Orleans would cost several times more. Then TBC will charge for using it and payback can be as little as 3 years. If they build it in New Orleans it can be built anywhere—think of it as a proof of concept.

@C_S_Skeptic Every SpaceX milestone had a chorus explaining why it was impossible right until it happened. The refueling math will get sorted the same way every other "unsolvable" Starship problem did.

It's rather humorous (or disturbing) that NASA is promising a "base on the Moon" before anybody has a firm grasp on the number of refilling tankers it will take to get a single Starship to lunar orbit.
And since Starship is not now - nor could it possibly be by 2029 - human rated, how do they plan on getting people to the Moon?

@C_S_Skeptic @shut1n Honestly there is no expiration date on success. These are large ambitious goals. If it take 5 years or 10 it doesnt matter as long as we keep pushing forward.
PS - I also hope for the success of all our other space endeavors. Company or political offiliations do not matter.
