Tough day for us at Sebring. Seemed like we were always on the wrong side of the cautions throughout the race. Led some laps early on and had some nice moments, but it wasn’t our day. Thanks to the whole team and everyone at Cadillac for not giving up! Sebring is by far my favorite race of the year in terms of atmosphere with the amazing fans. It was an awesome crowd this year. Congrats to the podium finishers in our fourth annual wing eating contest! Thanks to everyone that came out for it.

@InsideUSC Peter and I were hired to photograph the entire season of USC Football for the 1974 Yearbook. I would produce a large poster (24”x36”) the next year of an image that I took of Anthony Davis, which were sold at the campus bookstore and other locations.

A LOT of really bad decisions on display and happening as we speak. The underlying feeling that this person or entity wouldn’t be anything without us is toxic. They all need each other. Bill France Sr didn’t invent stock car racing, it was around before him, but he did organize it and bring structure to the sport and became very wealthy in the process. This is a sad situation.

I just received the news of the passing of a close friend and top notch photographer in the world of Motorsports, Ron McQueeney. Ron was the Director of Photography at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for many years and after leaving that position became the president of the Indianapolis 500 Oldtimers Club. He and his team of photographers covered the yearly 500 from top to bottom delivering images for multiple uses. When the other events were added, they were covering those. In addition, Ron and his team traveled to all of the events in the Indy Car series. During his time, he witnessed a lot of changes and transitions to the sport. One year, when he and his team were out west to cover a race, we all hooked up and gave them a extensive tour around Hollywood, Beverly Hills, while hitting places like Dean Jeffries shop and more! Ron was always a good friend to me and so many others. Ron never had a Social Media account and he didn’t do YouTube videos. He was a total professional from a different era. His work will live on. This photograph was taken in 2016 at the Indianapolis 500 Oldtimers Club BBQ. It was on the occasion of his presenting me an award of recognition for my support of the Oldtimers & Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Since this was given on the 100th running of the 500, it’s something that I’ll hold dear forever. To have this photograph with Ron makes it extra special. God Bless Ron, you were a good friend and a great photographer.
