‼️Jenny /This Morning / ITV‼️ I’m writing to request ITV’s right of reply in relation to a story I am currently preparing for tomorrow lunchtime. The piece concerns ITV ‘presenter’ and contributor Ashley James, following an Instagram post published on Easter Sunday (link below), in which ITV is listed: instagram.com/reel/DWwC8uqgP… The remark made is deliberately offensive and sits in clear tension with ITV’s stated commitment to respecting religion as a protected characteristic. It is difficult to imagine a comparable scenario—such as mocking the Qur’an whilst wearing a bikini during Eid—being treated without swift response but as yet I’ve seen no statement from ITV? If I’ve missed it please can you direct me to it. As a regulated broadcaster, ITV has a responsibility to avoid unjustified offence, and this instance appears to fall short of that standard. Please confirm what action, if any, ITV intends to take, and how it will ensure consistent respect for religious audiences. I would appreciate your response for inclusion in the piece. Why oh why doesn’t our establishment accept that its only moral obligation is to the British state and the British people?
Not to global welfare.
Not to international liberalism.
To us, and our country, and our self-government. That is it.
The moment they do that, so many of the issues which plague our society become easier to manage.
Immigration is no longer a question of benefitting the largest number of global citizens but about boosting the British economy while keeping British people safe.
Foreign relations is not about promoting obscure minority rights in far off lands but about securing British interests wherever necessary.
And most of all we drop the idea that every culture in the world is the same and therefore anybody can fit in here, and celebrate the fact that Britain has a highly distinct, highly evolved culture all of its own that we want to cherish and protect.
What’s so difficult about that?

That's because the bias in our content has always been the pursuit of truth. The problem is, however, that we live in a world full of stupid people. And stupid people think that when you don't agree with them it could only be because of bias. Smart people know disagreement is natural and try to understand where other people are coming from because they know that's how you get closer to the truth. But smart people are the rarer of the two, sadly.
