@BlastingThrough Grenada was complete clusterfuck of an operation. It taught so many lessons in how NOT to do military operations. It was a major reason why we were so prepared/successful in desert storm.

One thing I will NEVER understand. When I look back at pics of Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria that were taken in the 70's and some in the 80's, the women were always dressed in street clothes. Nice looking designer type clothes, hair done, makeup on. What in Hell happened? They were Muslim back then. Why would women now, not want to look like their mothers, and grandmothers? @LauraPowellEsq Sounds like legislation written by a lawyer trying to drum up business.

Arguing in favor of AB 2600—which would create a new taxpayer-funded right to a lawyer for anyone facing deportation—Assemblymember Mia Bonta made claims like: “Over 88,250 Californians were deported in the first nine months of 2025.” But of course, “Californians” aren’t being deported. Why should actual California taxpayers be forced to pay for lawyers to help illegal aliens—including violent criminals, as @KateSanchezCA highlighted during the hearing—remain in the country? Bonta is a Yale Law School graduate and knows perfectly well this isn’t about “due process.” Our state is falling apart, and this is what we prioritize spending our money on? Make it make sense!

A man who looked like he did your taxes and operated like a ghost. Operation Eagle Claw in Iran, where he was aboard EC-130E Bladder Bird #4 when a helicopter crashed into it and barely made it out alive. Grenada, sitting on a toolbox to avoid getting shot through the floor of his Black Hawk. Desert Storm. Haiti. 31 years of service, most of it in Delta, doing things that still do not have public names attached to them. They even made a Pokemon card out of him. A legend in every way.

Today is International Beaver Day. In 1998, Royal Navy sailors wrote a letter to Navy News to complain that HMS Beaver and other warships named for "fluffy animals" were bad for morale. The sailors believed that "inoffensive, soft and cuddly and occasionally downright dull" names prevented them from making a strong impression on other nations. #InternationalBeaverDay
